Abraham definitely has more instantaneous power or "speed strength" than Pavlik no doubt. I think Pavlik might be more heavy handed though and he bludgeons you with his shots a little more.
No, All I have to say is the "ghost" was looming somewhere around that ring in Hollywood, Fla ... I think that most of all the memory of the beating that Miranda recieved from Kels, came back to him after getting dropped by that straight right of Abraham's. I thought Abraham did a good job, but not on the same level of Kels as far as punching power and overall boxing ability. He played peek-a-boo with Miranda and caught him slipping - while Kels put a beat down on him for consecutive rounds.
Arthur struggled in his first meeting with Miranda Kelly destroyed Miranda in there fight and didn't need a rematch plus if you remember look at Miranda's face after his fight with Pavilk and his two fights with Abraham that can also tell you has more pop on there punches.
the difference is that Abraham often hits people with shots they don't see coming, which is not the case with Pavlik. Both have murderous power.
Asking who has more power between these two really isn't all that relevant. Pavlik produces power with both hands, and seems to do it almost effortlessly. He keeps throwing 80-100 punches per round, and has a connect rate that averages 30-40 percent. I'm sure everyone is familiar with the Bronco McKart quote by now; "It's not that he hits you that hard, it's just that everything he throws has somethin' on it." Abraham throws what? -- 30 punches per round when he's at his busiest. He also puts his entire freaking being into his power shots. He often lunges, or throws wide looping haymakers. He has to have his opponent set-up just right in order to make his shots effective. The relevant question is: Who has the right style to win? The answer is obvious. Pavlik's style is Arthur's worst nightmare come true. It's Pavlik's fight to win or lose. As long as he does his usual thing, and doesn't get careless with Abraham's lack of activity, he wins inside 8 rounds.
Kelly Pavlik is godzilla. He hits with the force of a sledgehammer. Abraham does not have the power of Pavlik. Remember: the Miranda we saw last night was softened up by the beating he took from Kelly last year. Abraham would not have won so easily if not for that.
Why is Pavlik's style bad for Abraham? He's exactly perfect for Abraham. Have you ever watched Abraham against a mobile boxer, or even a counterpuncher? He is god damn awful, he looks horrible pressing the action Pavlik comes forward all the time, so he is there for Abraham to peek-a-boo and counter. Pavlik's shots are almost excusively straight down the middle, right on Abraham's gloves and arms. Pavlik is perfect for him. Perfect.
