I heard an interview with Kels and he said that he thinks Abraham would want to make the fight in Germany ... because he's had his belt long ... yadda yadda yadda ...

I have to disagree ... I think this fight could easily be a PPV fight and do nice numbers ... given the first MW unification bout since 2001 when Tito Trinidad attempted to become the undisputed middleweight champion.

Do you guys think this fight would do good in the states?

Maybe a neutral site like Las Vegas or MSG?

The fight would sell wherever. It would be an absolute war.

Probably could attract a bigger crowd in Germany.

No reason why it couldn't be on PPV if in Germany as much as if in the US. Not sure it's a PPV fight though.

How are Vegas and MSG 'neutral venues'? If so it could be held in a neutral venue in Germany.

Suprisingly I don't think it would be a very big seller. As with most boxing fights, many people who buy PPV matches are not very big boxing fans. Sure they'd know who Kelly Pavlik is, but Arthur Abraham is still unknown in the US. I don't know or understand much about business, but if the fight were to take place in Germany it would probably happen due to business aspects.

MSG would fit perfect for this fight and for sure it would draw a bigger gate/moneyin the US due to PPV.

You have to understand that there is no TV-PPV system like in the US or in the UK and German TV just pays steady money but not the uber-purses (lol, is that a word?).

Let it sell between 300.000 - 400.000 plus 20.000+ at MSG and both fighters could be paid around $5 Mio...

Depends on how good Abraham looks against Miranda. If he doesn't look top notch, then it would probably make sense to have it in Germany from a financial point of view. If that's the case, Pavlik would want to make sure it's a sound ref and 3 good judges.

I don't think so. If Abraham looks slightly impressive as he should against Miranda, then he'll get his name out there a little. There is scope for the fight to take place in the US. If not, I'm sure Pavlik would make good money in Germany, and it's about time he left the US.

I don't think that Kels is trying to go over to Germany ... I'm sure that TopRank would make sure that there's some kinda balance as far as the ref and the judges ...

I think it should take place at MSG ... I think it would sell great PPV numbers and sell out MSG to capacity.

I'm sure that Abraham has a strong following ... and if he looks good against Miranda a second time - then that would set up a nice fight between the two.

Even Vegas would accomidate the German fans if they were to cross the pond.

I agree with a previous poster ... the fight would sell around 400k - 500k buys world wide.

It's a mega fight anywhere they put it. But it comes down to Abraham needing to do the business against Miranda.

If the fight was in America then German TV would still pay steady money and if the fight was in Germany then it could still be PPV in the US.

Location doesn't make a difference to that at all.

So what you guys are saying is that if Abraham handles himself against Miranda then he's sure to fight Kels in the US?

It depends on how well the fight sells to the u.s audience. If he does well it'll simply be a case of gettting him back to fight there as soon as possible and the best way to do that is put him in with Kelly.
