He's been waiting and doing nothing.

He has only beaten one serious fighter in a close bout - and even that guy isn't well proven, so Hrgovic status is highly questionable.

I don't think he deserves it given how little he's done and how he's been hiding from any risk to his mando status.

I don't massively fancy Usyk-Joshua 3, but even that is more deserved than Hrgovic.

AJ is the best non-belt holder out there at heavyweight at the moment. And he'll likely get another solid win (or two) under his belt before the dust settles on Fury vs Usyk. So yes, as a boxing fan i'd much rather see AJ be the challenger of that fight's winner than anyone else.

Do you think Hrgovic would dare fight Joshua?

He's not fought anyone seriously proven at the time he accepted the fight - Zhang hadn't beaten anyone top 200 at the time of the Hrgovic fight, remember.

It's looking like Hrgovic is following the Wilder model of taking no risks by taking no dangerous fights with proven guys...
If he's doing that to protect a mandatory status, what would he do if he actually got his hands on a belt? I'd be doubtful he'd voluntarily fight the top guys...

When Eddie Hearn, in the ring after Joshua beat Ngannou, said "Tyson Fury please, please beat Usyk', he meant it. They do not want to fight Usyk again.

He beat a 40 year old novice. Let's not get carried away.

Generally agree - he could've fought Zhang or rematched Parker, those would've been good fights and better than taking on Ngannou (as much as that early KO was good for boxing).

AJ-Belly would be interesting just to determine who's the best Brit - regardless of whether Usyk beats Fury (which he probably does, then making it a fight for who's second best in the division, too).

Parker definitely deserves more good fights too - he's doing what a future champ should be doing.

About the only thing I disagree with you on is that Joshua could've fought Hrgovic - I don't think Hrgovic would want any part of that.

Before last night, there a couple of other guys who deserved a shot, since most of the heavyweight division isn't active enough, those guys being Zhang and Parker. So for me now, if Usyk's emerges as the winner from the Fury fights, I wanna see Usyk v Parker since we know how Usyk AJ goes. If Fury wins, it has to be Fury v AJ, surely!

All three of those fights could've been made and E-Hearn and AJ were ecstatic J-Park eliminated the risk of AJ getting chinned by The Dosser by taking him out of the equation even though it was a mega payday

Nah, Hrgovic will step into to replace Belly if he pulls the duck against Usyk again which is a distinct possibility or he will fight AJ instead whilst they're both waiting for the winner of Usyk vs Belly, especially if there's a rematch

I would prefer him to fight Wilder, tbh.

IMO I think Eddie knows the Fury-Joshua would sell massively in the UK. Literally no one wants a third AJ-Usyk bout.

Besides, Hrgovic should get a shot at a belt, then Parker. AJ needs to defeat someone with a pulse before getting another title shot...unless it's against Fury due to money issues.

I'll believe it when I see it .. so far, Hrgovic hasn't fought anyone proven, and he seems happy to sit on his mando stagnating - I'm not impressed, to be honest.

He could be more active but no one in the top ten of the IBF rankings wanted to fight him for a mandatory position what else would you have him do

In every other thread: "we gotta see the best fight the best!"

In an Anthony Joshua thread: " we gotta see the other guys that aren't the best 1st"

Of course he should get the winner, it's the best fight in the division.
