Does AJ hit harder than Vlad did?

Wlad has more comparable power to Wilder than to Joshua, I’ve never been sold on AJ’s power. Even when he was knocking out journeyman it was often barrages of punches against the ropes etc.

 

I think Wladimir is a top 3 heavyweight puncher, he definitely has more one punch power than AJ, but Joshua’s offense is more effective since he’s heavy handed and throws quick combinations

 

Only with his uppercut, every other punch Wlad has more power. For a guy that was as defensively minded as him, he stopped a lot of opponents, his power was top tier.

 

It was like 5 against Povetkin. Only 2-3 were proper flush as well.

 

For single punch either hand power, Wlad is a harder hitter than AJ.

 

I agree w/everything you posted. Big or at least close to it (assumes Pulev has aged well) difference between a mid 30s and near 40 y/o Pulev. AJ's resume is full of ~40 y/o names. Big names, some lock HOF, but well past their prime.

I like Ruiz but they could've hypnotized Andy that Wlad was a giant taco and he wouldn't have beat Wlad

 

Wlad wrecked prime Pulev with the few poweshots he landed and that Pulev is looooooooooong gone.
I'd be surprised if Pulev makes it past 5 & if he does it's only because AJ is playing it extremely safe.

 

This latest fight just confirmed what most ppl already knew. Every time Wlad connected cleanly Pulev was in tatters but it took about 100 flush uppercuts and overhand rights right on the button from Joshua to get a much older Pulev in serious trouble.

 

An idea as impossible as to see AJ losing to Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster?

Not from the outside. Not from range. Inside I would say he's a bit more effective with his hooks and uppercuts. He's more a mid range combo puncher. Wlad has a much more powerful jab.

 

AJs straight looks as powerful as Vlad's. Not the hook which Vlad instead landed in a devastating way. As to AJs uppercuts they are at MikeTyson's level imo.
