So it’s took him 6 months and various trips to America to decide on appointing someone who was already in his camp

I can't help but feel that quite a few trainers declined the offer to train him.

Could you imagine the highest paying trainer position in the world besides Reynoso.

Plenty turned that down for sure lol.

You've always got to read the small print ;)

This is based on absolutely nowt, but I think Joshua is a bit of a nightmare to work with.

I’d be surprised based on the money and profile working with Joshua would offer.

Perhaps too many of them were telling him things he didn’t want to hear and he’d rather go with someone he’s comfortable with/says what he wants to hear.

Easy to over analyse these things, but Joshua has looked strange in his recent interviews over the weekend. Very intense and twitchy.

Exactly! He'd rather surround himself with yes-men hence why I think numerous trainers turned him down.

To me it looks like Joshua is having a (slightly saner) meltdown akin to Wilder after the second Fury fight. Both took defeat badly, Wilder went silent and disappeared for ages and then went crazy. Joshua gave that weird IFL interview, looked for step aside and then went on a gym tour around the world only to end up with a shoulder rubber same as Wilder did with Scott. These aren't the actions of a man who believes he just got his tactics wrong. I don't think he fancies Usyk at all and is probably getting a Putin tattoo booked in as we speak.
