THE YB Poll 14 hours ago DOES ANTHONY JOSHUA NEED A NEW TRAINER? 1.6K votes YES 57% NO 43% Thoughts on this poll and the title question?
He has three out of the four belts at heavyweight and is an Olympic Gold Medal winner. 57% of people sitting on their couch with Cheeto dust on their shirt and hands...”pfft Stiff Idiot needs a new trainer...durrr”
Joshua will never be a fluid fighter who can move beautifully. He just doesn't have the natural talent for that. I think they've done a tremendous job maximizing what he's able to do. The fact that he does all the basics well but doesn't do anything extraordinary speaks to great training of good natural ability. There will never be a punch specific to Joshua that goes down in history as one of the best. He's an all arounder. Classic case of jack of all trades, master of none. Steward couldn't have taught him to jab like Klitschko, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Not really but stick Fury in front of him his high guard, static footwork, poor defence and miserable inside game will make you think he needs one. Take away his physicality over opponents he becomes nothing just like Wlad! A big useless wooden top. If Usyk did a better job at handling Chisora's aggression then I'd give him a good chance over AJ.
Your opinion that Usyk is better... is just that, your opinion. It has nothing to do with Joshua needing a new trainer. It has nothing to do with this post which was “Does AJ need a new trainer” You bring it up for absolutely no other reason than to shift the conversation away from the point of the thread YOU started. Did you mean to write a post that said “If Usyk beats AJ does that mean AJ needs a new trainer?” Because if you did you spelled all of it incorrectly. Like, every single word. If you didn’t let’s stick to facts and not your opinions. Everything I listed about AJ is not my opinion, simply facts of what he has accomplished. AJ’s trainer has taken a big stiff robot like fighter and made him an Olympic gold medalist and two-time, three belt world champion. Rob is ALREADY proven.
I rewatched the first half of the Chisora fight just half an hour ago. AJ should come in 260 lbs and throw Usyk out of the ring. Not even joking. The ref would let him get away with it.
Panic setting in with AJ fans.... already. McCracken is a cracking coach tbh. AJ wouldn't be in this position without him.
Lol. Imagine if AJ could use his physicality the way Fury does. I think style wise AJ is easier to keep off for Usyk than Chisora. Usyk seems to be putting a fair bit of mass, he must believe he can really hurt or stop AJ in his tracks should aggression come his way. dipping down behind a high guard and trying to ring circle away is a pretty poor defensive tactic against guys like AJ who will blow right through your guard. Pretty amateurish. AJ is the same himself though. as I've said Usyk likes to physicality and mentally pressure opponents, even take shots off his guard. He can't really do any of that against such a bigger man. If AJ can shut down Usyk's potshotting the fight is over straight away.
Bodybuilding merchant need a new brain, not new trainer. He talks bull**** against everyone like Wilder, Fury, Lewis. I think Ruiz gave him a brain damage.
