Seen way too many people say he has a weak chin so put together a short video clip of the hardest shots he’s taken in his career. What’s your thoughts on his chin? I’d say it’s decent, not granite but definitely respectable. This content is protected
It will be interesting to see how he fares from here. Some fighter's chins seem to get stronger as they get older and more seasoned. On the other hand, some chins clearly crumble from the shots they have taken. Guys like Alex Ramos comes to mind.
Everyone through out his career said Wlad had a glass chin because of his stoppage losses in his 20s but when he took that uppercut from Joshua it shut a lot of people up and changed their opinions.
Rocked to his core by Whyte. Rocked to his core by Medzhidov. Rocked to his core and stopped by Nistor. Dropped like a sack of potatoes by Wlad. Shook up a few times by Povetkin. Rocked by and dropped several times by Ruiz. No, AJ doesn't have a good chin, however... he does have good fundamentals, and heavy hands, which are a hell of a deterrent, which prevents him from getting hit flush all that often. However, if his defense was porous, and his opponents had nothing to fear coming back at them, Takam, Parker, Whyte, Breazeale and Martin would all probably have KO victories over him. It takes a few shots to get him out of there, but he can be gotten out of there. So his chin is Wlad like in that respect. But it can't stand up to repeated battering. In other words, he's fragile. Hunter and Parker on the other hand, seem to have pure iron in their chins.
Folks are slowly coming around to ol' Vladdo now that it's so apparent his skillset is miles above the current punchers of the division. His chin was never terrible; people just hated him.
Looking back he took some beasty shots from Povetkin and Klitschko without going down. He certainly hasn’t got a khan level chin.
Wilder never would have taken some of those shots. The ones where AJ lunges into them and is caught with a straight right are the types of shot Wilder gets dropped and it has to be waved off because Wilders legs have disconnected from his brain.
Video says otherwise pal. Anyway I can’t wait for AJ to fight Hunter and drop him about 2 times in round 5 and finish him. He’ll do nothing at heavyweight.
He takes Klitschkos best right hands but would be knocked out by Martin, Breazeale, Takam and Parker if they were fearless? Not to mention Whyte already landed his best left hook and signature weapon that has bailed him out of trouble and AJ ate it. Honestly mate what an awful take. AJ can take a good shot.
Many have taken Wlad's best rights and gotten back up, lucky for AJ, he didn't have to take another one flush. Because Wlad was an idiot and played it safe, thinking he had time. Had Wlad landed another, AJ wouldn't' have gotten up, or if he had, the ref would have waved it. He was in terrible shape after that knockdown.
I just showed you a video of AJ taking 5 different powerful right hands. Those types of shots would have sent little Hunter to sleep.
