Does Amir Khan have the most Underrated chins in Boxing today???

maybe or maybe he is just chinny.

 

There's a video of him in the amateurs getting clipped with a non too hard shot, with a headguard on, and doing the zab judah wobble.

The guy's got a poor chin. It's not even a real criticism it's not like he can help it. Everyone's different when it comes to taking a punch.

 

Having a good or bad chin is an intangible so I'll say he has a horrible chin. Roach cannot change that.

nope u cant get knocked down by willie limmond and have a chin and blame it on weight. his chin is much below average.

 

Horrible chin in all honesty but I've got a lot of respect for his other skills.

 

I have watched every fight of his from the olympics to now. I am a massive fan and i have to say he does not have the strongest chin.

I think if you look at his facial structure his bum chin does not help. This is something he will just have to deal with, hence his new in out style not letting his oppoenent get settled to sit down on punches.

What Roach says is true as he was killing hmself to make weight. I am not saying his chin can go from china to granite, but i think that along with his new style, better balance when throwing punches and fighting at a more comfortable weight his chin is no doubt better than before.

He did take at least one good shot From barrera and althogh you could see it effect him he seemed to shake it off quick.

 

Don't think Khan will ever take a monster punch and walk right through it... but I also think moving up in weight, recostructing muscle structure, growing into an adult and of course learning slipping and rolling with punches can vastly improve punch resistance. Whether it's from weak to average or non-existent to weak is a question until Khan gets hit flush by a LWW, but to his credit, so far he wasn't.

 

Roach said a lot about rebuilding his body and strengthening his legs and making a more rational support system instead of having a top-heavy torso with no legs to absorb the impact of a shot. It's probably never going to be great, but this has probably helped.

 

Due to Khan's frame and height 140 seems like his natural weight, meaning he at 135 was cutting too much.

Roach's team have done a great job rebalancing Khan's weight, with moving more weight down too his skinny legs. Also improving his movement and defence rolling off shots, and head positioning, feet positioning when blocking and slipping shots to lessen power of coming shots.

I don’t think Khan will ever have a great chin, but at 140 he seems so far take shots better, he is yet to be tested by a big puncher at this weight, but then again if anyone lets big punchers hit them clean there is a chance you will get KO, some more than others.
