Does Andre Ward still deserve his p4p#2 spot?

I have him at #5 behind Floyd, Rigo, Bradley and Wlad in that order

Since he beat Froch in 2011 he's only got wins over a badly drained Dawson and Edwin Rodriguez. Not enough to stay so high in the p4p rankings imo

Can sort of see your point, but who should be ahead of him if that's the case?

Rigo hasn't beaten anyone yet and most others have Ls on their recent record. Only Bradley and Wlad would come close to threatening it, and I don't think either of them are as good.

Floyd fights more often than Andre. Two fights in 2010, two fights in 2011, one fight in 2012 and one fight in 2013. Gotta say 2014 doesn't look much better.

Yeah, i think so. I think his good grace extends this far. I think he needs a top man this year though.

When Rigo beat Donaire he was universally considered top 5 p4p, and unbeaten in 30 fights. Wards best win is probably Froch.

he has a good resume, yes. And its not like he is ducking anybody. He is probably the most avoided champion and its not like they dont pay his opponents. Edwin Rodriguez got 1 million.

    Ward: inactive due to injury
Rigo: immensely talented, but has only beat a faded Donaire
Bradley: lost to Pac (sorry, he did)
Wlad: dominant, but against bums, and with a ref that allows him to fall on his opponent's back every 30 seconds.

His resume is good but I think he lacks a signature win over an elite p4p type opponent.

I use to dislike Ward and his dumbass SOG angle. However, I have become a fan since I find myself constantly defending the guy.

first, eRod was a SMW, and only fought a LHW at catchweight the fight before. he was ranked as a SMW. eRod was one of the few top SMW that Ward had not beaten.

Second, Dawson made the challenge and said he would come down at the time. Ward did not demand it in any capacity. Dawson must have felt he could make the weight limit with no problems . . . who are we to judge? I would argue that the win over dawson, even though he was coming down was as good if not better than the overrated Froch.

The only fighter skill wise who could make a claim over Ward is Rigo but he has not proven that he can face every style (this is where your record is important in P4P rankings).

Wlad has fought one decent fighter in the last 3 years and not only was it stinker he showed more grappling skills than boxing ones . . . so I do not even think he should be discussed in the top tier of the P4P rankings.

Bradley, Most people think he lost to Pac, some think he lost to Prov (he won but got beat up in the process), solid win over the aging wonder JMM.

everyone's P4P rankings should look like this:

    1) Floyd
    .
    .
    .
    2) Ward
    .
    .
    .
    3) Winner of Bradley/Pac

    everyone else

Rigo beat a faded Donaire? You mean the guy who won 4 in a row and was fighter of the year?

Now I said his resume was overrated and that he was dodging Rigo but don't discredit a solid win

Not a bad list, as I stated earlier I got the winner of pac/bradley as number 3 rigo would be 4 (he just doesnt have the depth on his resume). 9-10 could be a few different guys but I can see Lara and Prov in those two spots

question is: does wlad deserve to be on the p4p list if he doesnt knock out lepai?

Strongly disagree. The Froch win established him as the man to beat around the weight, and Dawson was extremely weak going into the fight. Dawson "challenging" Ward doesn't negate the fact that he was served to Ward on a platter. Dawson knew he couldn't make the weight, he needed money. Scully thought it was absolute bull****, and advised Chad not to go forward with the fight. On 14 Nov 2012, Dawson tweeted that he "was told to say that" in response to a fan who asked him why in the world he would try to make a weight he hadn't made in fukkin ages.

    The Dawson win sucks.
