Does Andre Ward walk around at 215lbs between fights?

Yeah, it's probably about £215 worth of beer talking instead of Ward walking around 215lbs in weight.
He would almost have to kill himself cutting that much weight in such a short amount of time.

He does cut weight to make 168, but he does train year round. I have no way of knowing for sure, but I'd guess it's around 180-190 at the most

It is not possible to drop that much weight that fast.

 

Even jr has never blown up to that level (as far as I know of). Maybe 205 on that famous picture, and he couldn't make the weight against Vera that time constantly moving the bar.

 

I believe I saw an interview with Ward where he said he wanted to move up to light heavy due to that weight being a "Mayweather situation" for him. I took this as meaning his walking around weight is around 175, so, like Floyd, he wouldn't have to cut to make weight.

 

There is an obvious reason the most skilled fighters of the p4p list stays at about their fight weight most of the time. Judging by pictures of Ward I seriously doubt he is ever over 190.

Ward is quite a small framed guy.

For him to weigh 215, would require him to go on a James Toney diet!

Id be surprised if he ever weighed much more than 180 considering hes known for staying in the gym all year round.

 

Honestly I wouldn't be too surprised.

Boxers, especially the higher up you go, put on tons of weight between fights. Ward has also never been too active while in the spotlight of his career... Ward certainly looks like he puts on weight, too. So, 215 might be a tad high, but I'm sure he balloons up to 190+, as many SMW's do.
