golota was not losing either fight. in fact, he was dominating both fights before he went nut hunting.

From the opening round, it was clear that Bowe was outmatched. Golota was able to land his jab at a constant rate and landed nearly half of his 69 punches in the first round while Bowe was only able to land 17. The two men would have a close round 2 with both men landing powerful shots on one another, but Golota regained control in round 3 and pushed the action further in round 4.

The Polish fighter, despite his successes, was struggling to keep his punches above the beltline. Referee Wayne Kelly issued a warning to Golota in the second round, and a second and last warning after Golota landed another low punch at 2:20 of the third. Kelly finally had seen enough in the fourth when Golota dropped Bowe to the canvas with a hard shot below the belt at 2:35. He deducted a point from Golota and gave Bowe time to recuperate, as is given to any fighter hurt by a low blow. After using three of his allotted five minutes, Bowe rose to continue.

Golota continued to press Bowe in the fifth and sixth rounds as the out of shape former champion was reeling. However, Golota again hit Bowe low in the sixth and lost another point. Kelly threatened to disqualify Golota, who had landed five low punches to that point despite dominating the proceedings, if he hit Bowe below the belt one more time. Despite the admonishment, lost points, and his stellar performance so far in the fight, Golota again hit Bowe below the belt in the seventh round and as the champion dropped to the canvas again, Kelly stopped the fight and disqualified Golota for excessive low blows.[4]

gololta-bowe II- Golota surprised the sluggish Bowe by dominating most of the fight, constantly and effectively using his jab and landing several powerful combinations through the course of seven rounds. However, from the second round forward, Golota ran into trouble with low blows and had one point deducted in each of the fourth and sixth rounds. Though he was ahead on all scorecards, another low blow in the seventh lead to referee Wayne Kelly stopping the fight and awarding Bowe the victory by disqualification.

Bet you liked Hatton though. This is boxing! Ward was a rough dude, no doubt, but he was a damn good fighter. You wanna know how good he was, his haters are still crying after he has long left the sport. The greatest mark of greatest, is how long your enemies remain enraged after they have been defeated. Ward/Kov, the fight that just keeps giving. This is what I needed to start my Firday evening. More butt hurt Kovalovers! From the bottom of my heart....... Thank you, thank you , thank you!

He's pretty unlikeable. Fought whole Super Six tourney at home, the opposite of what the tourney was about. Elbows, headbutts, low blows, etc. He literally won a fight with a 3 punch nut combo. Holds a lot. Is a holier than thou bible thumper. Also a good fighter of course.

Righttttttt.....a fighter that was dominating decides to purposely go low because they are confident they’ve got the fight in the bag. You're a genius

i quoted the ACTUAL fight broadcast. you disagree with the ACTUAL fight broadcast? golota was ahead on all the cards, both fights, even with the point deductions. golota was just a mental case. he knocked grant down 4 times. gets knocked down in the 11th round, gets up immediately, and quit.

That’s essentially my point....I guess I should identify what I meant by “outclassed”. I said the fight was competitive and sure you can point to numbers and say Andrew was winning but does that truly define Andrews inability to close the show or his lack of resolve? As soon as someone decides not to succumb to his initial onslaughts he falls apart. Bowe was resilient and dangerous because Andrew couldn’t gain complete control he decided he’d rather sabotage himself rather than tough through adversity.

agree with you on that. but bowe was outclassed in both fights. golota was ALWAYS a mental case. could have been one of the more dominating heavies of his era. head butted nicholson, blatantly. bit pou'ha on the neck.....

6 out of 48 Hatton fights where in England. So if you call Ward a stay at home fighter, you must consider Hatton one as well. Plus, when Hatton stepped up, he got put to sleep! Ward excelled! Boy he whooped up on poor ol Kovalev!

Until you renounce Margarito, you can never speak on the actions of another fighter! Now hush!
