Eddie Chambers basically said in interview with IFL tv , that he didn't and it was a hometown decision, Which is hard to disagree with.

I agree with Eddie if it was in any other country he would be a silver medalist imo

If it had been any other country he'd have gone out in the 1st round against Savon.

Definetly it was a terrible robbery savon gave him a boxing lesson

Was also lucky to beat cammerelle in the final

People for get that joshuas biggest acheivment in the amateurs was his silver medal at the 2011 world championship. In only his second major international tournament he beat cammerelle, phiefer and knocked out most of his opponents before only losing by one point to the home favourite medzhidov

The guy from Italy had him beat to imo, disgusting home town choices twice. But he seems a nice lad so I don't blame him, that's the way it is in boxing at the Olympics.

    No he didn't.

He lost the first bout clearly (Savon), so he should have been a 1st round exit. And the final was closer but everyone without union jack glasses scored it for Camerelle.

The first bout was much worse as the final, that wasn't just a hometown decision but a clear robbery.
Olympic scoring is as bad as pro scoring.

That was the worst copout I heard all the way trough the tounament.
"He won because of the new scoring system"... yeah sure, into the one that gets hit the most and hardest wins the fight or something like that? :blood
Or even better, the one living the closest to London gets awarded the most points.

The scoring was the way it always has been in Olympic boxing. Home fighters get favored in the worst way possible.

Ok Iv no idea what your on about and you obviously only watch amatuer boxing once every four years but I'm talking about them changing the scoring after the Olympics

So once against I ask do you have any idea what your on about and do I need to call an ambalance for you because you seem raving mad?

    ???
At the last Olympics they had another scoring system as before. When people were bitching about another robbery taking place that was the copout the supporters of that boxer used. Or the well known "amature scoring is different as pro scoring" excuse.

I thought you were referring to that as an excuse why they scored that way, with your remark.
Otherwise it's all a moot point in this discussion.
Yeah, they might have changed it up again, but the result will always stay the same because they changed it many times already and everytime it ends up the same. Why? Because they don't want to score what they see, if what they see isn't what they want to see.

Took away headgear , now have a ten point must system eg what Americans say suits them scoring wise

And then America had there worst tournament ever in the 2013 world championship

You do understands that if you have about 500 3 round contests in the space of two weeks yours going to get some disputed decisions and the odd robbery

    Of course.

But everyone paying a little attention also saw that that few robberies were exactly in favor of the big names and local fighters, just like in pro boxing and almost never in their disadvantage.

Look tbh no he didn't deserve his gold medal he lost the first round but you could argue that he should have won the gold the previous year, it's amatuer boxing hometown decisions happen they happen in pro's.

The fact he got to the final of the worlds less than 4 years after picking up a pair of gloves is an incredible achievement, takes real talent and athletic ability.

Personally I can't wait to see how far his career goes if he really can go all the way he has potential to be one of the biggest stars boxings ever seen from these shores
