Had Ruiz shown up in shape and ready in the rematch then a rubber match would have been deserving down the line. But he didn’t and despite me criticizing him for playing it safe, AJ owes Ruiz nothing. Ruiz needs legitimate wins to be considered but if he continues fighting outside of the top 15 HWs then he doesn’t deserve a thing.

if he earns it, yes. the shape he came in to the fight the second time doesnt deserve the immediate 3rd fight. take him as serious as he takes his career. just like that clown, fury.

Without a doubt. Andy knocked him down 4 times, took his championship and undefeated record. Andy rematched him. Let’s do 3 already.

LOL no it isn't. If you win every single round it's domination. If Joshua can beat Ruiz with just his jab then it's a sign that he's superior.

He’s superior even with a stoppage loss to a guy he got a ud over? How? Ruiz punked him in 7 rounds.

Not at all. The way Ruiz came into the rematch was pathetic. You don't deserve a 3rd fight after that

I dont know about superior but a 12 round shut out is obviously dominate, to suggest anything else is stupid.

Only idiots would think that boxing is just about KOs

4 knockdowns in 7 rounds is pretty dominant as well.

Why does a fighter who was knocked down 4 times deserve a rematch?

Nobody wants to see a rerun of that second fight. If they were to do it again Joshua’s stock would only rise if he were to knock Ruiz out.

Joshua has marketed himself as a KO machine and that’s what the fans want to see. Don’t get get me wrong he has some nice boxing skills when he’s not gassed his combos are good to watch, but he’s hardly the second coming of Ali he needs to be putting his opponents away or else the casual fan base won’t tune in and PPV if they come to expect a Parker or Ruiz 2 performance.

If he goes on to lose against Usyk, then all of a sudden the rubber match with Ruiz makes a lot more sense and for his own legacy he would need to stop him.

Lennox Lewis wouldn’t be held in such high regard if he hadn’t avenged his losses in the same fashion which first happened to him.

No, Joshua don’t owe Ruiz a damn thing.

Ruiz now have back-to-back fights where he looked underwhelming. Was pathetic in the biggest fight of his life (Joshua II) and struggled badly in his big comeback fight against a shot to bits Arreola.

Let him work his way back up and prove to anyone, including himself, that he is more than just a “fluke champion”. THEN he deserves another crack.

If Clenelo owes GGG a third fight....then AJ does owe Ruiz a third fight too. Easy maths. Ask yourself if Clenelo owes GGG a third one and you have the answer to this question here. I know...TOUGH one!

Yes. I feel there should always be a third fight if fighters trade wins.
