I know it's not the point that their nuthuggers intended to make, they were just stupid, but you could say, relative to era, their resume's are up there with the best of them. But that's only relative to the fighters available at the time. Of course, any argument other than that is ludicrous.

Well, he said record(which implies resume). Not a list of his acheivements. So a name would be nice? A defining win?

Well, going the other way and saying one of the few non-shot heavies with a good resume has a terrible resume probably won't help a fanboy see the flaws in their own argument. It's just another extreme attitude. Wlad's resume is neither terrible nor does it warrant a great position on the list of great heavies (like top ten). To say it's terrible is just as biased as saying it's great.

Words of wisdom as always :good

It is not 'terrible' that is a strong word. But it does not match up with any top 10 resume thats for sure. It is good in it's own right though. That is the fairest analysis one can make IMO.

Fair enough. ...But, if he should somehow defeat Iron Derek Chisora, even you will have to admit he's surpassed the Fraziers and Foremans...?

He'd have to topple the fearsome Tyson Fury for me to give him that mantle.

I'm not sure he's up to the task.

If you count Holyfield's resume as an ATG great (say 10 points),
then there is a plenty of boxer's whose resume counts as "good"
... WLad, Vitaly their resume is good comparing to Holyfield's (say 7pt)
... Haye, Adamek, Povetkin, Peter their resume is OK comparing Holyfield's (say 4/5 pt)
    ... Tua, Valuev (3pt)

... if Ruiz would be still around his resume would count as 8pt.

Well, let's compare apples to apples. Wlad has much better resume at 34 than Lewis did at 34 (before Holyfield fights).

And? Of what relevance is that?

Even that point itself is arguable.

And it's not as though Wlad's resume will surpass Lewis's resume in terms of quality before he retires. If you think so, then you are very, very optimistic.

Damn, you ARE a hardass, SL. Fury too? He'd be Wladimir's poison, puncher that he is. Even he is according to him, the hardest puncher he's ever been hit by. :scaredas:

It's like we think the same thoughts. The Klits are doing what they can, beating non-elite fighters in a boring fashion. That makes them current champs beating current opposition. Claiming them as all-time greats or bums is ridiculous.

For the record, no current heavyweight (outside Holyfield) meets my personal criteria of having a good resume.

i dont rate klitsckos records quite like most might, due to them fighting in such a poor era, i mean they beat guys who are high ranking and beat other high ranked fighters, but there all pretty poor non great fighters.

and especially wlad, his losses, who he lost to,and how he lost, thats not impressive.

they could gain respect if only they fought in an exciting and impressive manner where theres no cautiousness and no dragging out poor match ups.

If he unifies the titles after Vitali retires he will easily surpass Lewis's resume.

It depends on who he beats. With Haye retiring, and Povetkin seemingly terrified of fighting him, I can't see him surpassing Lewis's resume. Adamek is not enough on his own. Titles are worth nothing if the holder is rubbish.
