One Light Heavyweight champion I'd love to see against Tyson is Mike McTigue. It'd be interesting how he managed to throw a negative number of punches.

no he wouldnt tyson ducks then comes up and swings conn would throw something and go into the clinch smothering that return shot and I will take Conn in the clinches over Tyson any day.You guys watch boxers beat up the bums of their era and think fights are gonna go the same way in different eras! lololol.

Tyson with that bending over low and then coming up with a punch style is not gonna bother Tunney, also when has Tyson ever faced someone with two handed feinting skills , those tyson counters always come out cuz the guy hes fighting never feints (let a lone with 2 hands) before they jab , its just jab no constant milling no right and left hand feinting ,he knows when the punch is coming, Tunney feints with both hands constantly mills(that lead hand pumping motion) and even feints and hops backwards (if tyson swings while hops out of range hes out of position badly)!!!! again you guys think the dorks that tyson fought are on the technical level of Tunney or Loughran!

It's pretty well known that Holyfield (light heavyweight) slapped Tyson (heavyweight) around at the '84 Olympic tryouts.

So I would say Holyfield ALWAYS beats Tyson.

I wouldn't bet on any LHW to beat peak Tyson, but either you'd have to pick someone with ridiculous combination of chin and power (like Langford) or elite boxer willing to fight inside like Charles.

Langford is the best choice in my opinion, but Tyson would probably still prevail.

Spinks or Charles are the best representatives of LHW that can compete with HW...

    Both get beat.

    Nobody else stands a chance.
    Nobody.

The Billy Conn thing must be a joke.

Tunney had good skills for back then, but so did Biggs, Thomas, Tucker and Tubbs and they were all much bigger than Tunney. Tunney is just too small and wouldn't have the firepower to deter Tyson. Tysons fast feet would get him in position to land on Tunney sooner than not and i just don't think Tunney would be able to absorb too many of those shots. Sorry but I can't see Tunney lasting more than 6.

Can anyone imagine how amazing a fight between prime Saad Muhammad and Iron Mike would be if they were BOTH light heavies?

none of those guys have skills close to tunney not a single dude you mentioned. Tunneys has enough firepower to deter Tyson, Tunney wears you down then he turns up the heat , He would finish Tyson. Tysons so called fast feet isnt doing **** Tysons game plan is you throw he ducks and comes up with his punch, Tunney 1. will feint and hop back or forward hiding when he would go in on Tyson(and he would do this at a range where both fighters would have to step to land a punch) 2. When tyson ducks Tunneys initial punch Tunney will tie up him ,Tysons counter would be null and void, You can see this done by boxers back then in that upright style(loughran, philly jack, jack johnson and Tunney.) Tyson loses every round or gets stopped!

Okay. If we're sticking with Lineal Light Heavyweight Champions, I'll even go out far on a limb and take some hits here: Because of styles, I think a prime Archie Moore has a real chance of pulling an upset over a prime Mike Tyson. I'm not saying I would bet on Archie in such a fight, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility.

    Fire away! Shields up! :detenido:

He's the ultimate destroyer of them Goo for mine. A guy like peak Ali would whoop them for fun but he wouldn't decimate them like Tyson.
