    Neither was Robinson...

Hearns was never the most durable guy in any division, but that power was very serious.

Guys "who carried their murder" (nicely put) higher... like Burley. Now we're talkin'.

Sure, but Robby had a proven ability to KO at MW, and more weapons to do it with. And more ways to use em at the same time.

Maybe a Burley with some good hands could do it. And maybe, someone like Charles with a combination of speed and power.

Ezzard Charles would have a good as chance as any.

A tall rangy puncher like Hearns, he carried genuine Heavyweight KO power in all of his punches, but particularly that left hook. The main thing is he had a left hook counter that could come from nowhere and send a guy into la-la land without even knowing he'd ever been hit.

Although the chances of Ezzard turning the trick is miniscule.

Langford & Ezzard are very good possibilities, but I just don't see even their chances as being anything more than remote. Hagler had everything you'd want in a chin and he protected it very well. I think his chin was better than LaMotta's and Chuvalo's.

If Hagler is getting cracked it is not by one punch IMO. If it happens it's going to be his getting worn down over a prohibitive distance, one he never fought over.

I can see a Langford right hand doing the trick. Hagler had a pretty well developed body as well, but i wouldn't rule out a Fitzsimmons sharpshot there doing the job either. I actually disagree McDude, I think Hagler's mentality, fundamentally sound defense, and great stamina would keep him from a TKO/weardown stoppage.

I feel like it would have to be fast, furious, and accurate. and lucky.

Didn't think of Charles:think..it's a remote possibility. I think of the sweeping left hook he nearly slew Archie Moore with.

    Hearns, Mugabi, Roldan, Hart, Briscoe....

All dynamite punchers. All nailed Hagler with solid shots. None did much to him.

Hagler's chin was concrete. With the possible exception of Sam Langford, no middleweight in history is likely to stop him, imo.

the slaughtering LaMotta took in Robinson IV, do you think Hagler would be standing after all those shots. I know Robinson wouldnt be able to do that to Hagler, but if he did theoretically, i dont think he'd be on his feet.
