A fine bunch of fancy words that, I am sure, are backed by real sentiment.

However, there were no slick fighters back in these guys' day so the crux of your argument is immediately discounted.

S,the thread is about any middleweight that MIGHT KO Hagler ! This question implies a banger, and powerful puncher. So what in tarnation has a "slick"
[your word] fighter have to do with this thread ? NADA !
And I am sorry that "in my day", of the 1940s and 1950s, by your standards,
my fighters should be immediately "discounted". Wow...Cheers.

Robinson COULD but the odds would favour a 15 round decision win for Sugar Ray IMO, both in their best MW form.

Ps. if Ray hits Hagler with the exact left hook he hit Fullmer with tho, Hagler`s taking a 10 count ;)

I thought the sarcasm was appropriately dripping...but maybe not.

Seamus,my answer to you as above was not meant to be sarcastic, but I
cannot believe that the fighters of the 1940s and 1950s,as Ray Robinson, Marcel Cerdan, Bob Satterfield,Freddie Steele, Tony Zale, Charley Burley,
Eddie Booker, Lloyd Marshall, Al Hostak, Jake LaMotta, Joey Giardello, Dick Tiger, Dave Sands, etc, middleweights all, should be "discounted",as not worthy fighters,as you posted...I respect every poster, for their opinions, but
I,one of a few still kicking who saw many of the above , owe it to posterity,
to defend these great fighters of the past..Their memories deserve at least
    my speaking up...:good

    Burt-My post was SARCASM.

I'm tired of people complaining about the bulk of the fighters of the past not being legit because they weren't "slick", a term which I think is euphemistic for various unsavory insinuations. Future sarcasm, however ham-fisted, will be avoided in regards to your posts.

S,I accept your answer. I'm usually aware of subtle humor, and respect
    your adroitness. Good show S....
