Straight up sense from McGrain. Hearns' may have only stunned him in their war but that was a fresh Marv'. Dehydration, heat and a sustained 11-14 round body and head battering would have seen him drop from the same shot IMO. No-one's un-knockoutable but 'Marvelous' was as iron-chinned as they come.

anyone can be knocked out. Hagler was rocked by Hearns before Hearns hurt his hand, but if anyone could stop him Hearns could have in a rematch. Mugabi landed on Marvin and Marvin just stood there.

If Marvin was a face first slugger then many of the aforementioned fighters could possibly KO him but the fact is Hagler was a vey good boxer who happened to have a granite chin. What I mean by that is Hagler wouldn't be easy to tag cleanly enough times to get the KO. Anyone can be knocked out, including Hagler but if he is KOed it wouldn't be from a single shot. It would probably happen late in the fight when he is tired and even that's unlikely since Hagler was a well conditioned fighter and proven at the 15 round distance. I have a hard time seeing the ref counting ten over a prostrate Hagler but I admit it's possible.

Roy Jones, Jr., Gerald McClellan, Fitzsimmons, Ketchell possibly… but not likely.

If RJJ fought a super aggressive fight and handed out a sustained beating, then maybe, otherwise I can't see anyone doing it. Maybe a bodyshot KO

I do agree. Hearns hit Hagler with such a bomb and a nice side of the head punch, and Hagler's right leg dipped and he was hurt badly enough. If you look at the side view from the Hagler vs. Hearns legendary nights program, Hagler dips and is rocked, but to his credit he had so much guts to take it and recover. But if Hearns did not break that right hand. What would have prevented Tommy from landing another 10 of those punches. As it was, Hearns kept landing rights, just not with the power because his hand was broken, but Marvin's face was swelling up even in round one. With Hearns, Marvin had to finish him early because Hearns sharpness and punching would swell him up easily.

It's obviously never impossible but Hagler's chin and defense make it hard to envision happening.

I think the 1st round of the Hearns fight gets overstated though, in terms of it being Hearns's best punch. Hearns stunned with with a shorter right hand at a closer distance than when he was most dangerous with the right. His right cross was most deadly when he had distance on it and could get full leverage (Cuevas, Duran, Shuler). At a distance, Hearns hit Hagler with some looping right hands around the guard and some straight rights, but not with full on leverage and power behind it like he did those other guys, and it seemed Hagler saw that coming also.

Earlier in his career, I think Cylcone Hart, he seemed to hurt Hagler more than Hearns did. It came toward the end of the round, forgot what type of punch he hit him with.

Roldan most likely would have done so had Hagler not deliberately jammed his thumb into his eye socket.
