To comparing to the possible amazing fights that could come out of the jr feather/featherweight division.

With likes of: Walters, Lomachenko, Rigondeaux, Russell Jr, Santa Cruz, Frampton, Quigg, Mares, Donaire. The amount of amazing fights that can come from this could last us the next 5 years. Could you imagine a Super 6 or 8. People are wondering what boxing is going to do when Mayweather and Pacquiao retire. I say look no further than this division and boxing's in great hands.

Who would you favor in a say Super 8 from here. I'm gonna go with Rigondeaux or Lomachenko. What about you?

    Nope.

aside from the latino and asian fanbases, nobody truly cares about the lower weight classes

Euros particularly, they despise what they call ¨midget boxing¨ with a passion

The media has done a great work promoting the ww class just because Floyd fights there and muricans are invisible at the higher weights, otherwise welter wouldn't be nearly as popular

I'm neither Latino or Asian. I'm a fight fan, and anybody slipping on the lower weight-classes, we especially this class, is missing out.

    1. Featherweight and super bantamweight are two different divisions. Pretend welterweight and light welterweight are one weight-class and even without Mayweather leaving there's more great fights there

    2. Half those guys are with Haymon and therefore fights between them and Lomachenko, Walters, Donaire aren't happening. I still like a lot of the realistically possible fights at 126 and 122 though. Lomachenko-Walters, Frampton-McDonnell, Frampton-Quigg, Santa Cruz-Russell. Rigo against anyone depending on who he signs with.

Flyweight is still hot and with 115 has just as many great matchups as featherweight...

Yeah, that range of weightclasses look to be the most promising, it's most likely from them that we'll get the next big thing.

The problem is, just because a weightclass has a lot of good fighters, it doesn't mean that it will be good, boxing politics often get in the way and we saw that with middleweights.

However, the single most promising weightclass IMO is LHW:

Mekhontsev, Bivol, Beterbiev, Kovalev, Stevenson, Gvozdyk, Gonzalez and possibly Ward, if these guys are moved along accordingly, it could be ridiculous.

I think this is becoming less and less true, people are expanding their horizons so to speak.

I know they are 2 different weight-classes. Separated by 4 pounds 122 and 126, Walters a Featherweight and Donaire a Jr. Feather have already faced, see my point. There shouldn't be any problem making fights with 2 Haymon fighters, now a Haymon fighter and a TR fighter, different story, but Loma for example is still young and a possibility to get from underneath TR's grip, lol. Besides this is just fantasy.

Selby has to get in there instead of Donaire or Mares in my opinion. Think Rigo is most likely winner, then Walters and Selby and Lomachenko equal. Think Lomachenko's lack of professional experience would count against him at this point of his career.

You're probably right, about Loma, just wishful thinking he showed that against Salido that he bit off more than he could chew, but his boxing is a thing of beauty. Nice come back against Russell Jr too.

LHW does look really good too. Not sure how promising the fights look, ya know if Kovalev and Stevenson are the example. Hopefully we can get a couple of the others made. I do truly hope Ward comes to 175 doesn't look like GGG is gonna man up and come to 168, so why not. Lol

Theres a British guy who will be fighting in one of those "midget classes" who just turned pro this week...I suspect if he has a decent run some Brits at least will give the lower weights a look. 112-115 has some amazing fights and it's a shame that so many folk over-look them.

I would agree that below 147 it's very hard to get big.

But wasn't Pacquiao getting like 500 PPV buys in his days at superfeather?
