I wouldn’t put Charlo in the Rubio box. I’m a fan of both and I’d expect Charlo to give ggg a good fight

LOL! When a tough opponent is mentioned for Golovkin to fight, the G fans always say, "Why doesn't Canelo fight him?" LOL!

Its a FACT that after Canelo dumped that WBC title (which was won at a CW, defended at a CW, lost at a CW, and again defended at a CW) he CHALLENGED GGG to a Non-title fight at 155.
It is also a FACT that GGG said he would fight anyone between 154-168, yet refused to fight Ward at 168 and Canelo at 155.
It is also a FACT that Canelo was being sued by his Mexican promoter during the time the WBC ordered Canelo to agree to a deal with only two weeks to work out the details.
It is also a FACT that Canelo had never fought above 155.
It is also a FACT that GGG has stlled his career "goals" because he's chasing money.
It is also a FACT that GGG was defended for not taking the Ward fight because he had MW career "goals".

So if and when GGG drops or gets stripped of his IBF title to avoid Derevyanchenko, will you call him a ducker? Or will you justify his move as a smart business decision?

I find this thread by a Canelo fanatic funny, seeing that Charlo is on record saying:
    a) that Canelo ducked him for years and will never fight him.
    b) that Golovkin is "one of the best who ever did it. The dude is amazing."

I agree, I think Jermall Charlo is for real.

To be honest, I wasn't sold with their early fights, both seemed to have great physical attributes but lack elite skill. But I must say that they seem to be improving in the skills department as well.

I believe it has something to do with the LASIK eye surgery both had a year ago or so. It's hard to box well or be slick when all you can see is a blur, and I think being able to see clearly is a massive confidence booster too. Personally I can relate as my own eyesight is similar to the Charlo's pre-surgery and I can guarantee from personal experience that it's a major factor.

It was a clear mismatch, but it wasn’t really his fault.

If he picked VM four months ahead of the fight and went into camp for him, that’s kind of weak considering GGG is at the summit of 160.

But the way things shook out for May 5, I don’t blame him for that.

His next fight will be against a better opponent than Vanes. Props to him for being willing to accept a KO because that outcome was inevitable. But for GGG, Canelo popping and withdrawing made it a stay-busy fight.

Can I get something through to you.. if Canelo is 155 he is a middleweight, in fact if he 154.1 he is a middleweight, he doesn't have to be bang on the 160 limit to be a middleweight, do you understand that?

You can weigh anything between 154.1 to 160 an you're a middleweight, what don't you understand about that?

So Canelo was a middleweight even when he was weighing 155, So delete most of those "facts", that 155 crap means absolutely nothing.

The only fact is, Canelo was WBC middleweight champion and vacated the title he said he would defend against his mandatory (Golovkin) just before purse bids.

    That's a duck/avoiding a challenge.

Look at the list of excuses you have made, they are just excuses for vacating a belt and avoiding a mandatory, you can slice it any way you like, the fact is he ducked Golovkin at that moment in time, he still went on to fight him, credit to him for that but at that moment he ducked/avoided him.

Two fights later he was fighting at a 164.5 catchweight.

If Golovkin drops a title to go and fight BJS then I'll let that go, it's another title, another Champion and in my opinion a great fight but if he drops a title to go and fight for money instead of fighting his mandatory then yes I will have a real problem with that and you'll see me go in on him.

I have no problem criticising any fighter, no fighter is above criticism and I'll praise fighters I don't like if they deserve it, I'm honest, consistent and fair.

And I'm glad you brought up the "smart business move" phrase because THAT WAS YOU who was plastering that little phrase all over these boards when Canelo vacated the WBC belt to fight Liam Smith.

YOU said it's great exposure in the UK and around Europe, I took the pee out of you because you obviously didn't and still probably don't understand Boxnation isn't great exposure for any Uk fighter in my opinion and when you look at the numbers and it certainly wasn't at that time.

I have a memory, I even told you weeks before it was announced Canelo was fighting Liam Smith and you told me I was full of crap, you didn't even have the decency to say "yeah fair enough, you were correct", you really do have absolutely no shame.

All you do is make excuse after excuse, and try and twist situation after situation.

You've just tried to excuse vacating a title to avoid a mandatory, you've even tried to excused fail drug tests, I'm all for supporting a fighter but there are limits and there are things and situations that just can't be defended.

Hewck what has Charlo done to EARN a shot at the Undisputed Undefeated Middleweight Champion of the World??? Nothing who's he beat @ 160 ?? the one guy was crippled. Let these PRETENDERS EARN a title shot Fight someone with a pulse. The only guy I see with a legitimate claim for a shot is Danny Jacobs he deserves a rematch Canelo Chit his own nest in no way does he deserve another shot. But this is how boxing is today !!!CORRUPT!!!!

I'll swim across the Atlantic before Oscarina lets her little cherub take risks like that Let the pretenders fight it out to see who can EARN a shot
