Does Anybody Else Favour Margarito Over Cotto?

I even think that a prime mayorga whip's cotto at 147 mayo was very very stong and big,like tony.and had lot's of stamin,like tony.had a great chin,like tony,BUT TONY has more skill.AND WILL BEAT THE SMALLER COTTO:deal

 

bookies have it at about 65/35 in favour of Cotto

 

anyone who says either of these guys has "NO CHANCE" is either ignorant, a nut-jockey, a hater or just plain stupid. .. pick one.

 

im a big fan of both&its 50/50 but at the minute&for the minute im backing margo.that'll probably change a few times closer to fight night.

 

you know how many times Ive read this? ever since the Malianaggi fight he has been slated by so many people on these forums to lose and he always wins.... how about some analasis on the fight before you make this call!!!!

 

This would suite miguel against tony, cause tony is a notorious slow starter.

 

Cotto will comfortably out box him. Margarito lost to Williams and Cotto is a much more accurate puncher. He'll hurt Tony with his body shots and slow him down to an extent where I don't think Tony will be pressuring him the whole fight. Even if he doesn't I'd still pick Cotto to outbox him off the back-foot.

 

Cotto is going to pretty badly outbox Margarito.

 

I think it will be a tough fight for Cotto but I see him winning. For one his jab is gonna be important.. He has a really good, strong jab and Margarito is always open for it. Just look at the Mosley fight and you'll see how he had Mosleys head snapping back from the jab. And 2. Everyone talks about Margaritos stamina and how he's relentless and this and that, Yeah for the first few rounds he will but when he's getting hammered to the body with Cottos left hook his stamina and power is gonna drop DRAMATICALLY. And don't forget when Cotto hits bones alot of the times he breaks them or fractures them. I'm going with Cotto by body shot in the 10th round. But it will definetly be a tough fight because Margarito is no pushover and he's a big physical guy.

 

Normally, I'd say that Cotto should take advantage of Margarito's tendency to start slow and bank the early rounds and preserve energy to win a few down the stretch. Throw that out the window cuz Margarito has come out strong in the earlygoing since it cost him against Williams. If anything, I'd expect him to come out all guns blazing to make a statement early on and let Miguel know that he's gonna be there all night and that he's not going away. He's got the workrate and the chin to give Cotto problems and I can see the momentum shifting in this fight from to round. I'm not making any predictions right now other than saying that the fight will be close.

 

its slighted (not slated) I will go back up and read what you wrote didnt see it on my first run through the thread . I think it will be a tough fight I give Cotto the edge but I am very aware that he can also lose I got it 60/40 Cotto I gave detailed analysis (thank you )on another thread out there.

 

I can give Margarito an excellent chance of knocking Cotto out, would not surprise me at all.
