lets put jokes aside. he seem like a cool dude and never let Broner get under his skin and always remained calm when it comes to trash talk. i learned his back-story and hes been thru alot and he finally got his shot and failed. he brought that canceer pacient to see him win but instead saw him get knocked out. that must be hard to deal with. hopefully he continues to train hard and gets a belt one day. respect
HBO and there ****ing BS. Showing the kid with cancer and showing his poor ass back ground. Then gets embarassed by broner and let the kid down with cancer. Didnt need to see any of that BS
It's a ****en fight, I don't feel bad for him! He does seem like a happy person, im sure he will get over it in time. I think he should move down to 126!
HBO took a gamble with that, IMO. Had Perez pulled off the upset the coverage of his backstory and including the whole Make A Wish angle would have come across as very uplifting. Instead it was just like ....Oh. He got blitzed. :!: Yeah, we kinda figured as much. Aaaaaaaanyway, moving right along...
Im curious, since Eloy does seem like a peaceful fella. Why did Broner feel the need to pick on him? :think Would he use the same tactics with Rios?
pretty sure he'd do it to any opponent that speaks and understands english. Rios wouldnt back down tho.
During the broadcast I was confused as to why they delved in so deep with making Eloy a sympathetic character knowing how big an underdog he is, HBO made themselves look bad tonight.
I would favor Rios over most fighters around his weight class but Broner seems like a pretty bad match up for him.
That's how I see it too. Rios is a bully. He's the new and improved Margarito. Broner would trash his ass.
HBO sucks with that heart tugging ****. I almost died laughing when they did the same **** with Sergio Martinez "talking" with that little American girl that got bullied. I was like, "that ni@@a don't even speak English!". Martinez then proceeded to get his nose broken by Barker. Almost turned out bad for HBO on that night.
I mostly felt bad because I thought he could have continued, and despite being out-boxed, he wasn't fighting a horrible fight. He tried to get up way too quickly and forced the referee to stop it with that horrible series of flops, but I feel if he had just chilled out for a second, he could have continued and made a better fight out of it and made a better account of himself.
