Boxing isn’t a tag team sport though. This era we actually have a chance of one guy holding all the belts.

Fury's respective conditioning in both fights might have had something to do with that. :hambre:

Wilder is actually surprisingly tentative, and against the constantly moving, feinting, half-jabbing Ibragimov I wouldn't be surprised to see him go into a bit of a mental shell.

I’m no wilder fan but in the first fight he threw the kitchen sink at fury, he managed to connect and save his belt.

wlad v fury, wlad holds the record for least punches thrown and landed in a 12 round championship fight. He froze. Wilder didn’t.

2nd wilder fight was a tactical masterclass from fury

Ibragimov? His two fights before wlad was a UD via mummy Holyfield, one judge had it 115-113.

his other was ancient Briggs, dropping 3-5 rounds on the cards

    wilder would ice him

Against an ancient Wilder who was literally on his last legs. :lily:

Wilder is tentative in a lot of fights where the opponent isn't just standing there, especially if the opponent is giving him things to think about. Szpilka fought in a similar way to Ibragimov and lasted nine rounds with a very shaky chin and open defence. The tougher and more skilled Southpaw Ibragimov would at the very least give Wilder lots to think about, and thinking has never been Wilder's strong point.

    I'm heartened that you agree.

Ibragimov didn't show us much in his career, but H2H I think he would've been a handful for a lot of today's fighters. Very sharp hands, a lot of movement and underrated toughness and heart would have seen him nab a few victories off the lumbering oafs that fill up the current division.

so the same person that drew with 36 year old mercer would beat who? 36 year old mercer is better than which lumbering oafs currently?

Infact, I’m done, because fury, wilder, aj, ruiz, whyte etc would smash him.

Considering how badly Wilder performed compared to unheralded Otto Wallin, as well as his own prior performance, I think we can say he's clearly fallen off a cliff.

Ibragimov would run rings round that old man.

projection. I’m sure you probably thought fury was done after the wallin fight. It’s one loss to an elite heavyweight
