Does anybody else think that Jermain Taylor was actually a pretty good fighter?

Excellent fighter who would always be a champion but never "THE MAN" if that makes sense.

 

He bored the hell out of me as a fighter and person. I had Winky beating him and thoroughly enjoyed seeing Pavlik drop him in the corner.

 

I mean he got pretty damn interesting "as a person" in his later career (albeit not in a positive way)

 

Well that is true, though I did feel pretty bad for his post boxing life. The guy clearly had demons and never found a way to quell them.

Yes i thought he was very good. I heard he had Asthma and his stamina problems came from that. He would certainly be competitive and likely a big player in todays division.

 

That wasn't even post boxing life tho, all the wackadoo stuff began prior to his comeback and reclaiming gold.

 

Very good. Probably my favourite American fighter of recent times.

 

Are people seriously saying Taylor was not a good fighter? Undisputed MW champ while fighting Hopkins x2, Spinks, Joppy, Froch, Abraham, Soliman, Pavlik, Winky?
