Does anybody give Abraham a chance against Andre Ward?

    So after a poor effort against Dirrell, and then losing a shutout against Froch, Abrahams stock has plummeted. In contrast after beating previous tournament favourite Kessler, and looking comfortable in his other outings, Ward is held in very high estimation these days.

    So does everybody thing that weekend will be a straightforward unanimous decision for Ward, or could there be any twists and turns in this one?

    Could the prospect of losing 3 fights on the bounce (ignoring his 2 rounds warm-up) compel Abraham to change his slow-starting, highly-defensive style and try to put Ward under pressure from early on?

    Does the fighting style and attributes of Ward offer him any great a chance in this fight than he had against Froch?

    Or does this fight not even warrant any discussion?

    Hes got a punchers chance, but hes limited at against elite level fighters. Ward is quicker and craftier than Carl froch, and Froch was able to put on a great display against Arthur Abraham. We do not yet know if ward's chin is as solid as Froch's, so there is a good chance of Abraham hurting Andre if he can catch him. Thats a fairly big if though. I see a wide points decision win for Ward at the end of the day.

    Never say never in boxing but I can't see him doing it unless Ward does something stupid.

    If he can catch him with something big then we could see an upset. He needs to start a lot quicker.

    Yes I think he has a slim one if he can get to Ward early. I don't think a 'punchers chance' really applies to Abraham here as he is hardly going to wait to try and get Ward to walk on to a big counter. The only way he can win I feel is to hurt Ward early so as to be able to set the tempo of the fight. It's unlikely but at 11/2 I feel it's definitely a reasonable punt

    The problem for Abraham is, for all his power, he can't utilise it on the inside, which is criminal for a man of his physical dimensions at the weight. He's strictly mid-range, and Ward eats those guys up. Green, while not similar to Arthur stylewise, is relevant to bring up, he's also mid-range only and Ward completely nullified every advantage he has. He's superior on the inside, the outside and in his ability to adapt. Barring Abraham winging a hail Mary and landing, Ward should win comfortably.

    He's got the power to but as our very own slip&counter said, I think Ward will put the handcuffs on him.

    I would favour Ward on a sort of 98 / 2 ratio. Ward wins unless Abraham completely lucks out and lands a hail mary (not his style) or Ward really messes up (not his style.)

    Ive been saying for ages that Abraham simply isnt good enough at the weight to challange the top guys in the division. Sure he has the power to hurt Ward, and we still dont no what his chin is like, but Andre should be about to outbox him ala Froch.

    I'm definitely not writing Abraham off, he always has the power to trouble any fighter, but Ward is going to make it an exceptionally tough night.

    the blueprint on how to beat AA is there for all to see, and Ward is a very good boxer, he can do a lot of things in the ring.
    I hope AA KO's ward but i cant see it at all
