Does anybody give Pacquiao more credit for the David Diaz win?

  1. I hope you're not suggesting Pacquiao should've turned down the De La Hoya fight.

Diaz sucks ... he's flat footed ... slow ... and can't take out anyone who's top 10 ... he got lucky knocking out Santa Cruz ... other than that, he hasn't did anything, his most competetive opponents beat him.

He's definitely a gate keeper of TopRank and a lower level fighter in the lightweight division. His next fight will be against TopRanks' next best thing ... possibly a comeback fight for Peterson ... or Valero.

Diaz isn't great, but he isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be either. EVERY fighter can't be the best fighter in the world for **** sake. There's nothing wrong with that, u need other guys to fight and u gotta give them some credit. Sure diaz looked like **** against pac, WHO DOESN'T? That doesn't mean he's a bad boxer, it just means there's some guys out there who are better

I've always thought it was a decent win for Pac. Not great but OK.

Diaz fought a gutsier, tougher fight with Pac than did Hatton and DLH. That guy withstood great punishment and didn't quit on his stool.

Not having a go at Manny, just talking in general that i think to many fighters these days jump up and through the weights without establishing themselves at the weight, and it does happen more than it used to.

It can also leave question marks over whether that fighter is the best in the division or has he just came up, beat a relatively weak champ, then moved on.

Like i say, nothing against Pac, just an observation.

Diaz was champ in paper only. Beating shot Erik Morales moving up in weight really doesn't constitute a champion.

The better question is does David Diaz fighting a close fight with Humberto Soto change your perception about the condition of Erik Morales with him losing a controversial decision with David Diaz?

schooling was not the way i see it with Guzman running for his breath and for his life by the time the fight was at the championship rounds against Soto

I thought Soto could have done better than he did, Diaz is a pretty solid and respectable contender but Soto looks like he was gonna out class him earlier. Not to take anything away from Diaz, but i dont know what happened to Soto in the mid rounds.

That's Diaz' game. He wears people down with his agressiveness, his toughness, and his body shots.
