It's just a question of whether Louis is better. Louis was a dynamite finisher too.

Tyson didn't do it as often. But we saw his ferociousness and domination and finishing abilities sparkle for the short glimpse.

If you think that was prime Tyson then you sir are deluded, prime is an individual measure of when a fighter is at their best, not a frigging age bracket.

Wait, you mean that wasnt the best version of Tyson? No ****, tyson took the fight lightly but excuses almost always accompany a loss. the facts are this:

    -He was undisputed HW champ
    -He was undefeated
    -He was 23
-Buster Douglas fought the fight of his life and put on one of the best performances in HW history

if you think that the Tyson that got knocked out in Tokyo wasnt dangerous you are sadly mistaken.

A trainer boosting themselves, it happens all the time. And to say he was fat against Douglas. It's one of the worst excuses ever. Tyson was prime against Douglas. Not peak, there's a difference.

-Was going through a nightmare scenario with givens
-don king fired his entire coaching staff (which was pretty much his family, too)
    - hadn't trained at all.

Tyson's prime ends at the spinks fight.

He was probably still high from the night before, he wasnt near a real version of Tyson and that is blatantly obvious early on, he wasnt even a 50% version

In answer to the question both are near perfect finnishers, although Tyson is the better faster boxer who is more likely to land his shots and not get outboxed like Louis could at times

The mess in Tyson's life seemed more chaotic during the Spinks fight. The Givens mess was way over by 90.

Your version. My version. And the truth. Hopefully we all true being truthful. In the end your 50% version is beyond an exaggeration.

So your vote would be a tie?

Wait, seems you voted for Tyson. I guess you give him the slight edge because he's faster.

My money is on Tyson in this one. He seemed to be so quick and sharp with his punching combinations, and when he hurt you, he invariably finished you. Louis was a better fighter and certainly not to be underestimated as a finisher, though.

Everyone is talking about Spinks (a great example) but there are so many more. Berbick and Holmes were to great chins that were cracked as soon as they were hurt enough for Tyson to land clean.

Bruno I - Ref stoppage to what was surely inevitable.

Pinklon Thomas - He was stunned in the first round but in the 6th round he
felt it. Tyson with precision went after him and closed the show

Larry Holmes - even with all his savvy Tyson put him away. It has never been repeated since.

Douglas managed to get his **** together and dedicated himself.

Tyson on the other hand was complacent. Simple as that, he allowed distractions to take away from his ability. And I think that had he been in the ring with a lesser fighter or one that would have been made for him, then Tyson probably would have walked away with an easy KO but Douglas brought it that nite and Tyson wasnt prepared mentally. By the time he got serious it the was 6th round and he had already taken a licking at that point.

Talk about being a round late a few punches short.

I give it to Louis, he seemed better on the outside and on the inside. His combinations on the inside were vicious he had a more varied attack and worked the body better.
