Exactly. And even worse, Ruiz CHEATED in every fight he won above the journeyman level, by holding excessively to prevent his more talented opponents from winning WITHIN the rules - and sometimes even faking "low blows" to get crucial point deductions, and in one case, a bogus DQ.

Ruiz's connections to then-powerful promoter Don King allowed him to get away with this cheating. Basically, Ruiz is a talent-less palooka with all the ability of a high-grade clubfighter, whose connections to King allowed him to use illegal tactics to win fights he would never have won fighting legitimately.

 

got to give the man credit cause he was able to win a title twice after that vicious knock out and a notable wins also so weather you like him or not the man had enough heart to get in the square circle and perform to best of his ability and not a lot of peeps can say that
