Holyfield vs Akiwande, I know it was set just before Evander Fought Lennox, but the fight card fell apart like two days before the fight itself does anybody know or remember why?
interesting I knew it had something to do with his blood test but wasnt 100% positive, that explains it then, I really beleive this fight was suppsed to be a look good fight for Holyfield going into his fight with Lewis
More than likely, King kept Akinwande under his wing even after the disaster against Lewis because he felt he could be a useful opponent for Holyfield in preperation. He was still trying to get Akinwande recyled into a worthwhile opponent by 2000, and actually it was meant to be Akinwande vs Lewis II in 2000 (and wouldn't THAT have been a great fight to sell?) rather than Ruiz.
