Besides Teddy Atlas, which has essentially doomed him? Most of what I'm reading is that either Joe will get the decision, whether or not people they like it, and are simply hoping that Roy wins but they don't think it's possible. I know Roy's past it but is it that out of the question he pulls out a decision? He's still capable of giving Joe a lot of problems.
Jones WILL win. His plans of action already inspire that thought. Once you feint a volume puncher, you make them hesitant and EXTRA awkward. All he needs is just a second to land one shot and the fight is on!
yes i think he can win. he just needs to highly offensive and stay active . conditioning will be highly important but it hink he is in shape. we will see if he can pack that punch
i think he has about 20-25% chance of landing a bomb and maybe stopping calzaghe... if roy was in front of calzaghe when he went down in round one against hopkins, roy would have jumped on him, bernard let him off a bit... probably calzaghe on points...but jones does have a chance, however slim... and i had a few quid on a jones stoppage too...well, i'm a bit of a gambler

I don't think it's likely. But is it possible? - hell yeah. All depends on how fit RJJ is for this fight - and whether he'll have his stamina issues to deal with. Remember that he'll be fighting at a much higher work-rate than normal - and you'll have to factor that in for any analysis. But Slappy is off-balance a heck of a lot of the time, RJJ punches quicker and faster (relatively) than B-Hop (who dropped him) and is a more natural LHW. I don't think the B-Hop KD was by chance either. JC comes to fight and really hasn't had that depth of experience against him prior to the Hopkins fight. I think it showed in just how amateurish Hopkins could make him look at times. The worry for Joe I suppose is that he doesn't come into a fight with a gameplan - he usually waits till mid-fight if he's having problems and then instinctively adjusts. On the other hand, Jones will have studied Cal. You're looking at an accurate counter-puncher with a good right. And it's the quick right that JC hasn't been able to anticipate that has dropped him 3 times in his career. It is there for Jones to take the chance - but question is, will he? He'll certainly come against it in this fight; he'll have to turn back the clock somewhat. Calzaghe's frenetic pace isn't going to waver, I rate his chin very highly so I'm unsure it will crack. However, this may be one of the most explosive punchers Cal has faced. RJJ's no mug either - he has a decent boxing brain and can pick his shots very well. He's not a Hopkins in terms of defence though - much more intent on using his once lightning reflexes (which have waned with time). So he may get tagged more than B-hop did. Though Calzaghe's :fight isn't devestating... it can have an accumulative effect over time. And RJJ has been down. Will it come back to haunt him? Interesting fight - definately not one that has a foregone conclusion (which makes it interesting). Good luck to both men.
I admit to everyone in this forum that i think jones will win by UD tonyt. im not gona be one of those guys who doesnt admit it now and then laster says "well it was obviously a style clash. I knew he was gona be too much"
It seems some think that Jones winning is all but a formality now. I do think Jones particularly dangerous, but a win for him is hardly a certainty.
