In this age of ppv-ripoffs,i cant help but recall this; It started in the early evening in the UK with; Nigel Benn Steve Collins Naz Winky Wright Danny Williams + others. Then over to the USA for Tyson Holyfield Moorer (plus Botha, Akinwande and others) All on the same ticket,as it were. It was.....brilliant.A great all nighter for £9.99 I get misty eyed thinking about it.Wish it was like that now.
The best night in boxing ever, I mean the card was ****ing stacked, four heavyweight bouts pretty much all the top heavys except Lennox Lewis, and the out come of the fight that night just amazing.
Did you get the British leg first as well Bazooka? It was a Joint DK/FW promotion, hence the 2 bills. Brilliant.
othe FW card was insane, winky wright was on it right? A young, fresh and hungry danny williams was on there, i remember he had a late night documentary about him on channel 4 the few weeks prior to Judgement night. man that time of the year was kinda crazy for me.
Yup, I mean for the money that was the best PPV event in history, and the Sky network hooked that **** up, I love watching boxing when its in the UK the brits are just amazing supporters of their fighters. but the whole night was just awsome.
They used to have amazing cards on regular network tv. I remember a triple play Saturday night show on ABC in the late 70's with, I think, Marvin Johnson-Victor Galindez, Ray Leonard-Benitez, and Hagler-Antefuermo I. (I think that was the card.) On free tv with Cosell doing the Hagler and Leonard fights in Vegas I believe, and Chris Schenkel doing the Johnson fight from a different location.
