If Clottey beats Pac then I see a Clottey vs Margo rematch happening. Then Pac will fight JMM for a 3rd time and the winner of Floyd vs Mosley will probably fight Cotto (if Cotto beats Foreman) so yeah, Arum has NO choice but to work with Golden Boy again, and Floyd most likely.

This is a very ver outrageous theory , i like it , but its way way wide of the mark !!!!!!

Arum does not like to do business with GBP , and he will avoid if possible , i.e. i think Arum would make Pac Marg in a heart beat if Manny agree'd to it , forget Floyd and Shane .

No he hates Mayweather and would rather walk away from the money and potential historical consequences to continue his grudge at his age of 78.

Yeah I just think the old fart likes money more than anything else and when it comes down to it, there is more money WITH GBP then without them.

If Pac wins, yeah a Pac/Margo fight would be profitable for him and may happen but then what? IF Cotto beats Foreman (which I kind of doubt) these are the 2 scenarios I see:

    Scenario #1:

    Pac / Margo
    Cotto / Clottey rematch

THEN Arum has to come to GBP to set up fights with Floyd/Mosley/JMM for the winners and losers of these matches

    OR

    Scenario #2:

    Margo / Cotto rematch
    Pac vs Floyd/Mosley/JMM

I dont think Cotto is in Arum's plans to be honest , i think Margarito is his only ace card in avoiding GBP then he may have to deal with them or Manny may move back down to 140 , Bradley or Valero , or he could as he has said on numerous occasions go into politics and become the countrys leader !!!!!!

If it benefits Arum then he will, otherwise he could care less for the common fan like you and I.

Of course he will. Arum, like all promoters, cares about money above all else. He's not going to walk away from the pay-day Floyd-Pac will bring if he can help it.

Look - before all the drug-testing controversy came up, Arum and Golden Boy had agreed on everything else in the contract, including the purse-split which everyone thought would be the main sticking point.

If Floyd aqcuiesed to Top Ranks wishes on the drug tests (14 day window, when they can take blood etc) do you seriously think Arum is going to reject the fight and the tens-of-millions of dollars it will make, because he doesn't like Floyd? Not a ****in chance.

It's not a question of hating or disliking or avoiding! This is supposed to be a business and what professionals do is to get it on the ring no matter what and after it has been projected that there will be a gross revenue - big, I mean BIG reward for these athletes - the promoters and managers just make the events as big as it can possibly develop into... In my personal opinion, mostly wise Mayweather realized that he doesn't need to risk what is most important for him and that is his undefeated record against Manny so he goes down low and insults the guy by making people suppose that he's on steroids... Pacquiao moves away from the stinking debate and Floyd seems to be the one who really wanted the fight when he did not.

If Mayweather happens to win the Mosley fight which is as possible as coming to lose, then he can propose the fight without conditions and mind games. I really think Mayweather keeps his fingers crossed so that Manny comes to lose without them ever meeting in the ring.

Problem with these 2 is this. Arum is a no nonsense type of promoter. Write up the contract, sign it, and lets get this fight on. Floyd on the other hand is very difficult to deal with, and Arum has little patience for his games.

After this mini-tournament is over , assuming of course that Mayweather gets past Mosley, I think there will be way too much pressure to get this deal done because there really will be no other viable options out there that fans will be willing to pay for.

    ehhhh...i dunno

im thinking that alot of people who are now on the pac bandwagon....the guys who arent diehard/hardcore fans....they probably even havent seen the pac/jmm fights....

i think most of his new fans that hes gained...that have helped him rise to superstardom....really only know him from the oscar, hatton, and cotto fights.....i think alot of people view him as an unbeaten fighter....and i believe a loss does hurt him pretty good....
