Does anybody think that Mayweather is more ATG than Tyson?

Tyson was basically a 6 round fighter.
If he didnt take you out early, he strugled after 10 rounds.
He was a great puncher, but strictly one dimensional.
    No comparison to PBF.

:conf There was no reason to fight him. When Tyson was champion, Foreman wasn't doing anything to warrant the D-word, brother. Tyson captured the WBC/WBA/IBF and Ring/linear titles, all separately, and defended the ABC's together until Douglas, from 1986-1990, all while Foreman was doing what?

Coming back in 1987 to fight mostly journeymen like Jameson and Zouski whom Tyson had already butchered while polishing his skills, and most notably the undersized Qawi coming off a kayo loss, Smokin Crack Bert Cooper coming off a kayo loss, and Cooney coming off nearly three years inactivity and a knockout loss in his last. Foreman did nothing to say he even deserved a Tyson fight but what he himself would and did call "ballyhooing". In other words, he knew how to pick guys that would make him look good and impress mongs, and bull**** his way into bigger money.

No reason to fight him to prove he was the best...which is the only fair way to apply the word 'ducking'. Not proving you're the best if that's what you're claiming with a belt or what have you/not fighting anyone who establishes themselves as a challenge to that claim, once it's been earned = ducking, as far as I'm concerned. Solely for the argument of ducking, in that context, there was no reason to fight Foreman. I'm certain money would be there, of course. But, no, Foreman didn't put himself in a position to be ducked by Tyson.

Foreman was actually offered a fight with Tyson, but probably would have had to give options to Don King.

    So he declined.

    Hard to argue this one.

On one side, Tyson was clearly the more dominant fighter of his era, and he did fight quality opposition.

On the other side, FMJ has always been the boxing genius and physical phenomena that he is.

As far as legacy is concerned, I'm inclined to say Tyson still trumps Mayweather, but years from now when Mayweather will inevitably be more appreciated, the tables could be turned.

Mayweather will go down higher on the ATG list.

Imagine for a second a 200lb Mayweather vs Tyson.

ya :yep I don't seriously think Tyson ducked him, because there was no point where the fight made much sense, but I heard stories from somewhere that Tyson feared him
