Tyson was more capable and skilled fighter at his best.

His resume is better as well, despite his losses.

I really dont see much of an argument for putting Tyson above Mayweather P4P, how iconic they are has absolutely **** all to do with it.

Wait ten years after Floyd has retired and you'll get a more balanced answer to this question, because honestly it seems like some people now just cannot bring themselves to evaluate Mayweather fairly as a fighter.

Pacquiao and Hopkins are above Tyson as well by the way.

People seem to forget he went 41-1 in his first reign dominating 41 of those, 1 loss. Its a lose no excuses but not the end of the world. Hes the youngest heavyweight champ ever, youngest heavyweight unified champ, only one ever to unify all belts one by one, only heavyweight to be p4p number 1 and was for 3 years, steam rolled an entire division in devestaing fasion so everybody knew who the man was! And at only 5.10ft Not saying floyd aint great cos he is but some tend to forget how great tyson really was.

Of course Floyd is, i don't think there is much of a debate really. Yes Tyson would be more exciting but Floyd is at the top echelon of boxers. Probably even top 10.....

Only De La Hoya is a good win. And he was shot and done. Mosley and Marquez did not come to win. Did they even want to win that fight?

All the others arent that good.

He was a titlist or belt-holder. Never unifed or unidsputed.

Hatton was good an all but hes no all time great! And tyson was p4p no1 for 3 years thats when you had other great fighters round in different weight classes! When will we see another p4p no1 heavyweight? Floyd is great his resume is good but its by no means above and beyond tysons!
