A lot of people think Arum is corrupt in his match making/fighter protection but also his fighters seem to get the decisions best for him.
But do you believe it goes as far as paying off judges and/or referees?

**** no he doesnt pay off judges.

you dont think 1 judge at 1 point in time would have leaked out this info? no one can keep secrets like this, they also come out. anyone that thinks judges are paid off in a non 3rd world country is an idiot

In many fights judges are corrupt or ******ed on of these two choices for sure, you tell me how judges scored Rios Abril for Rios, how judges scored Helenius Chisora for Helenius, explain to me since there is no chance of paying off judges...

I agree, people bet on these fights and everything. Anyone involved would get decades in federal prison. How could not one person wear a wire or anything.

I don't put anything past Arum. He's a crook plain and simple.

If he wants a fighter to get a decision they get a decision. Boxing is like the Wild West, anything goes.

This is why i posted the thread. I always tell myself it's not possible that judges or refs are getting paid off.
Then I see a ref performance or a judges decision (not singling this to arum now) and I can't see anything other than corruption at foot.

This was bull**** - looking to stop it

This is almost beyond comprehension, **** would have to start laying in with a machete to get a dq.

We've seen the results with Marquez Pac - Pac Bradley - Rios Abril

    ****ing Pernell Chavez.

    No.

Anyone who posts something naive like that is an idiot. Bribery and corruption goes on to the highest levels of politics, media and the police. If you somehow think boxing is superior and better governed than that then you're clueless.

Boxing is one of the worse governed, most corrupt sports in the world.

they are more incompetent than paid off. in this day and age, with wires, paper trails, bank transactions, time stamps on everything ect...just asking the wrong judge 1 times who wont take a bribe, all hell would have broke loose. so in your theory, everyone who has been bribed has acepted and kept quiet and the ones who has declined, has also kept quiet. no way, no how.

look dumbass...could it happen in thailand? YES. in a country like the UK or USA? very doubtful and i will explain again...put on your thinking cap dummy

its more impossible to think everyone could keep quiet with a wink and a nod and not 1 person like "Arum" has ever been accused of. Same with Don King. All the big cards they have put on and whether a "bribe is accepted or declined" its never even been a rumor of such misdeeds. so youre the ****ing ****** who watches way too many conspiracy movies

I read somewhere promoters pay for their rooms and flights. If that's the case I can see arum sending some first class stuff to ensure they favor a certain fighter

Again. So naive. Get your ****ing head out of the clouds. I'm not even kidding. What planet do you live on, because you seem to lack even the most basic understanding of planet Earth.

So we have the media buying off the the metropolitan police:
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/07/phone-hacking-bribes-five-police-officers

Financial institutions manipulating the interest rates in order to make profits from buyouts: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/dec/20/ubs-libor-rates-scandal-banks

Friends of the Prime Minister instructing their employees to illegally hack the phones of the royal family and other celebrities:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19725264

So we have corruption and bribery reaching up to the highest levels of political office, financial institutions and the media, something we've seen for the last 100 years - yet you want to act as though bribing a boxing judge is out of the question

You basically need to pick a side: Either you think that there is no bribery of corruption in the west, or you need to admit that boxing is just as vulnerable as any other sport, and far less likely to be exposed.

Do yourself a favour and stop being such a naive mug.

Oh look, Bob Arum bribing boxing bodies. I thought you said he'd never been accused of making bribes?:
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ot...ing-Arum-admits-bribe-over-Foreman-fight.html

So we see he would happily pay bribes, but we're supposed to believe he'd draw some moral line with boxing judges? :patsch

Oh look, bribery in boxing. Thought that would mever happen?
    http://articles.chicagotribune.com/...officials-promoters-and-managers-robert-w-lee

And look, I know it might bring your world collapsing down to suggest that corruption is possible in the West, but a year long investigation in Europe has revealed that over 700 football matches could have been been fixed. That's football, the world's most popular, properly governed sport having offials and participants who have taken bribes and fixed the outcomes of matches- including a Champions League game in England.

So let me guess, it's possible to fix all of these football matches but not pay off a boxing judge or two?
    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...rt-that-says-matchfixing-is-rife-8480648.html

Look, the head of World football knew that FIFA officials were taking bribes over a number of years. In the West as well. Who ever would have thunk it?!?!:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18813156

Oh no, Spanish authorities and the legal system (in the WEST!!!!) have inexplicably covered up doping practices of very powerful and rich sports clubs and athletes. But it doesn't make sense, because Iceman said this isn't possible in this part of the world? :think
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ot...s-Operation-Puerto-scandal-goes-on-trial.html

I could have posted literally hundred of links of bribery taking place in all aspects of life, from politics, to banking, to sports, to the media, to the army, to business. When there is money to be made there will be bribery and corruption, and where there is less regulation, media scrutiny and a more entrenched culture of shady goings on then this is going to be more likely, hence why it is rife in boxing.

So, people have been able to get away with this **** in the most media scrutinized areas in the world, yet you somehow think it couldn't happen in boxing, a niche sport renowned for it's corruption and poor lack of governance?

I'm genuinely astounded at your level of naivety, although I must admit, I can now understand how you became so emotional about Haye trash talking your idol.

    Rios/Abril

I think Rios won at the most two rounds but he gets the decision.
