Which is why he wasnt punished. NOT because something was "swept under the rug". Roys opponent, richard hall, happened to test positive for the exact same substance in the same fight as well

Because even if you are enraged by his positive test for a substance (a substance that was both legal under american law and not banned by the sanctioning bodies of any of the organizations who's titles roy held) his opponent tested positive for the same substance in the same fight and still got utterly destroyed.

 

Ultimately Nostalgia and worshipping of old era boxers is the reason people put on some rose colored glasses and see what they want to see. Roy was a fast fighter, but like all classists they create a hyperbole and create this mythical super hero that never existed.
