Does anyone beside me actually appreciate Wladimir Klitschko's style?

his boxing style is boring. but as far as technic he is sensational. his jab is great, his 12 combo is great, his defence is solid, his movements are well thought.

I really like Wlad's style, yeah. I think he has a tremendous jab and when he gets it going, he's a pleasure to watch. Very accurate, sharp puncher. He does need to let his hands go more though in some fights, especially guys like Rahman and Ibragimov, but I still enjoy his fights.

Wlad a few years ago, pre-Steward, was an offensive beast. People think Wlad has always been a strict, 1-2, type of guy but he really wasn't. I'd compare him, as a puncher, to Joe Louis actually. Beautiful combinations, varying his punches and a good body attack. I know Steward wants him to be a bit more rigid but I'd love to see the old-Wlad when a guy decides to cower on the ropes because I don't think many heavyweights in the history of the sport, can withstand the ferocity he once used. I know he was hardly a world beater at that point, but look at Wlad's offence against Ray Mercer. The power he showed was unbelievable.

He's still a good fighter to watch though, but because of his nature, and he admits he isn't a natural born fighter, I think it's too easy for him to be involved in a poor fight. When he gets going though, he's pretty amazing to watch.

Are you kidding? He has excellent boxing skills. If everyone boxed like Wlad that would be the greatest era of boxing.

Seeing a guy who has all the physical advantages over his (usually fat & small) opponent fight scared like he does is not good to watch. Period.

Not much to appreciate, but he gets the job done and that's something to respect.

Yeah, I mean why would anyone want to watch the best Heavyweight jabber since Holmes? Especially one with more power than Larry ever had? It must kill you to watch great footwork & those hooks off the jab too......................

    ****in' idiot :-(

Good post. Let me add that when he fought Barrett he threw just about every punch in the book knocking Monte down 5 times and leaving him a bloody mess. This is the same Barrett that was in his prime & considered a serious contender at the time.

It's hard to blame WK for his current safety first style when you consider that he lost three times to much lesser fighters partially because of that style.

The fact is most haters here want to see him fight that style so he loses again. :deal

    Ain't gonna happen.............................

This is also the reason why he has never been knocked down in his boxing career.

I'll put it this way. When it's good, I appreciate it. When it's bad, it's really, really bad. Byrd II, Chagaev, Jefferson, Austin, Mercer, I actually enjoyed these fights. There are times when it works and he doesn't have to clinch much because the opponent can't force him to or doesn't have a style where it ends up happening much, but when the guy works inside and Wlad gets his octopus on, it's hell to watch.
