Does anyone besides me think that Clottey's gonna rough Pacquiao up?

That doesn't work in boxing - styles make fights.

    Using your logic -
    Mayorga > Forrest
    Forrest > Mosley
    Therefore
    Mayorga > Mosley

We all know that wasn't the case.

Wow... I haven't been around for awhile, WTF happened to this guy?

Clottey is tough and he counters well, but I just don't see him being dynamic enough to take Manny out of whatever fight plan Freddy will have him ready to execute. I'm guessing we see Manny picking his spots carefully, making Clottey lead, and winning in enough spots to take rounds and grab a decision.

I am curious though to see what happens if Clottey catches him clean. His power is a little overrated, but he's a sharper WW puncher than Cotto and he throws less predictable punches.

A couple of years ago, I would have viewed this match-up as a joke.

But a lot has changed since then.

Pac is better and faster, but the size and strength go to Clottey.

I picked against Pac when he faced Oscar, Ricky and Miguel, all for different reasons, but I'm expecting a hard-fought UD for Pac this time, though the upset here wouldn't surprise me.

Sure, however if both boxers are at 100% of their abilites the better one is going to win.

Clottey is VERY strong, has a tight defence and an iron chin but sometimes seems to fall asleep or lower his punch output too much. He is definitely a dangerous fight for Pac, whose best bet is to win on points due to his higher work rate.

It's a joke that some people call Clottey slow in all areas. Slow on his feet? sure, but when he lets his hands go, he's anything but slow. He's faster than Cotto and more athletic, just not as versatile and he lacks a high workrate.

Back to the topic at hand, I think he'll put up a good effort, but I don't expect him to rough Pacquiao up much - especially if Pac uses his legs like he's capable of.

Exactly...I can't believe poeple still try to use the "Fighter A beats Fighter B, so is Fighter B beats Fighter C...then Fighter A beats Fighter C."
