Does anyone else find Foreman/Jones' hypocritical commentary hilarious?

Roy called the Morales Pacquiao 1 fight perfectly. He seemed like he knew what would happen in the fight just watching the first few minutes of it, I remember being in awe on how perfectly he would predict a fight. Sometimes he was wrong and pulled rank a lot to make the others listen but he definitely knew his stuff.

Foreman was biased towards a puncher no matter how badly he was being beaten. The Hopkins - Trinidad fight was a disgrace, Hopkins was completely dominating Trinidad and late in the fight Foreman says Trinidad has Hopkins right where he wants him? He was very entertaining however and had some good moments as well. Lampley was joking during the Torres - Cotto fight and Foreman told him that Torres had power and to watch out, that turned into a war for 5 rounds was good stuff.

I think my favorite announcer has to be Tarver, the guy is very intelligent and just has a good announcer voice. Him and Jones were my favorite I think, shame he got fired for being a steroid cheat doesn't make him a bad announcer.

Ward also guest commentates alot but Im not really a fan of his, no emotion, and doesn't seem to care at all about the fights he's watching.


Emanuel Stewart got so into the fights sometimes, the raw emotion was exciting to hear. Him during the last round of the Toney - Jirov fight was priceless, even though he had nothing to do with either fighter he was in it all the way, you could just feel his love for the sport in that moment.

 

Yeah, but it really shouldn't matter what his religion was, Red...

 

To me, listening to George (and to Roy, but to a lesser extent) you can get a real insight into how he thought as a fighter.

He constantly says things like, "He's just one good right hand away from turning this fight, he's getting the timing down and it might happen any second" ... and that's exactly how George thought during his fights. Moorer is jabbing him silly and piling up points, but Big George is thinking that he's one right hand away (which turned out to be true).

He also says how he thinks about the jab breaking down a guy's resistance, that sort of thing.

It gives us a look inside the thought process of a great puncher.

 

Shame Roid's mandible wasn't.

Normally I would agree but the man was a minister of the church of the grilled chicken.
