Does anyone else hope groves' fight isn't shown by sky?

HBO's PPV undercards always, always, always seem to go the distance so we never get started with the main event until 4.45.

I guess they along, with the promoter and matchmaker try and get fights on the card that are likely to go the distance, so HBO haven't got tonnes of time to kill before the main event. You can't have a PPV main event starting at 3.30 our time.

A shame Golden Boy don't do the Top Rank thing of streaming the untelevised undercard on their website. We'd be guaranteed to see Groves then.

    Really?

I'd personally be eyeing up Paul Smith or Brian Magee - anyone else barring those two is a complete waste of time on the domestic scene.

It would get him some exposure to the American audiences and also provide experience of fighting on a big card away from home.

Better that than a three round demolition job of a very average domestic contender.

Groves should be in prize fighter not fighting some bum....(not seen the opponent yet...who is it....and do not say 'ooh American journeymen are sooo tough')...

He should be fighting good fights now not fookin about.

I'd like to see groves fight quigley before smith. It would be very good for a progressing youngster because quigley clearly knows how to drag people into a fight which is where he likes it. He'd be tough for groves

think HBO like to have 5 ppv quality fights on the card just in case of a pull out.

He is eyeing up Smith and Magee but the way to put pressure on those fights happening is by continuing to build his name at home. Dilks would also be an eliminator for the British title.

Its going to be a three round demolition of a very average mexican. There will be no exposure there will be 15 people watching the fight at that point and its not on TV.

    Each to their own.

I'd get him some experience of fighting away from his own fans, it never did Lewis or Hatton any harm.

Dilks would be an even quicker demolition.....

although the opposition will probably be a step down, groves wants the experience of fighting in vegas even if its way down on an undercard in front of a handful of people.

i don't think he harbours the same level of ambition to fight in liverpool or belfast (he's already done manchester :good)

I think an average American journeyman will be a stiffer test than Dilks.

Not every fight has to be a title fight, after all.

Good to see someone doing something different rather than just sticking to the well trodden path.

Our fighters need to have less but more meaningful fights.
