Does anyone else think 140lbs is too much for Pacquaio?

Thats my take on it. Pac may be a great fighter at 140 but the Diaz and Oscar fights havn't proved it one way or the other.

I think so too. Huge credit to him for battering ODLH. Pretty much everyone was astounded by that. But against Hatton at 140. Different beast altogether. I'm convinced he's bitten off more than he can chew with this one.

That's why he is the best P4P fighter in the world. 140 is really testing himself. That's like Floyd Jr. fighting at 154 or possibly 160 and Floyd doesn't even want anything to do with the best at 147. Pac is a true featherweight or lightweight at most. These guys at 135 and over are way to big for him....he is just that good to be fighting with them.

Absolutely. He's 30 already,so it's not like he's growing into the weight. He's spent his prime at 126-130.He's definitely a better p4p than Hatton, but at 140,he may be in over his head.

I think the weight is probably going to be the max at which Pacquiao can perform he will be strong at this weight becuase of how he trains but can he deal with fighters who have fought their entire careers at this weight that is a huge question mark.

Yes Manny will still carry speed and power but can his body take the shots from guys equally as strong if not stronger than he is? I think its un fair to say yes based on the De La hoya performance that is all it was, a drained Oscar past his better years in front of a kid who had his batterys fully charged nobody expected Pacquiao to win sure, but on the same token nobody expected or considered that DLH would be this affected by the weight.

I think its safe to say that Mannys biggest win today is his win over DLH out side of that its the close win over Marquez three of the biggest names he fought were against guys who were past their better days.

Hatton is not there yet and this is his strongest weight, I like Hatton in this fight, but if Manny does win its a testiment to how good Pacquiao really is, However I just think that Ricky is going to be too much for Manny in this fight time will tell.

I think 135 should be where Manny stays at, but 140 will be the max IMO

It's weird, because almost everybody thought this less than a year ago. If the prospect of a fight between Hatton and Pacquiao was even mentioned the board was full of posters deriding the prospect, saying it would be a freak show and Hatton would win easily but get no credit for it.

Pacquiao then beats up David Diaz and a 147lb punchbag shaped like Oscar De La Hoya and suddenly many of those same people consider the fight a forgone conclusion in Pacquiao's favour.

hmm says... Nah pacman's frame naturally and ideally is 145(+)lbs (mass index). The dude walks around naturally at 154 lbs when he's not training so two weight classes down shouldn't be a problem. He still remarkably maintains his power and speed. It's just he hasn't been tested yet at 140 but I'm sure he can hold his own.. I see his limit at 147.

I still have Pac by a pretty brutal beatdown. I'm not rooting for either guy. I just think Pac will take Hatton apart. His speed/power/footwork will be the difference.

I don't agree that Pacman is fighting above his natural weight. I actually think that he is a freak of nature to have been making the weight classes that he has in recent years. During the ODLH fight, the commentators mentioned that his wrists and ankles were either as big or bigger than Oscar's. If that is the case, then his frame can easily handle 140. In fact it may just be the perfect weight for him.

It is also smart on Pac's handlers part to put him in with Hatton who is not a big one punch KO artist.
