Does anyone else think Golovkin would defeat Wilder at Heavyweight?

    Ive said it before, people on this forum think something magical happens at 200 pounds which makes the weight differences between heavyweights make little difference.

    Reality is that Weight doesnt make as much difference as skill to a certain degree in any Weight class.

    Lets look at their last fights
    Wilder 224 IB ~ 6 Foot 6 ~ 83 Inch Reach
    Glovki 160 IB ~ 5 Foot 11 ~ 70 Inch Reach
    equals 64 IB ~ 7 Inches ~ 13 Inches

    Now the question would be, is Glovkins skill level high enough to overcome this W/H/R disadvantage. :think:think

    I think the odds would be heavily in wilders favour. No matter how **** you are at boxing with them W/H/R advantages you should really be able to defeat the much smaller man.

    Having said that I got Glovkin in the 3rd round knocking Wilder out. :smoke

    If what most of what these guys thought was true about the magical 200lbs, Valuev would've been unbeatable for Haye

    There's a big difference as you get to the heavier weight classes in have you are able to absorb and take punches from larger men. At some point skills won't be enough to over come a physical obstacle by facing a much larger foe. Otherwise we'd have a bunch of Fly weights beating up welterweights or welterweights toppling light heavyweights.

    But if Golovkin fought Wilder he wouldn't have to cut weight, he could come in at his natural weight, and would be more deadly, but we aren't talking about winning a world title here, which is why top Flyweights don't beat up top Welterweights or Welterweights toppling Light Heavyweights.

    We are talking about a top class middleweight in with an average Heavyweight.

    For one hitting like a hw is the most vague comment I've heard. Which hw are we talking about? Just like any other weight class, power varies with each fighter.

    Two, I'm glad you dug up a video from his am career :good. I'm sure since then he hasn't improved a lick since and hasn't adapted to taking punches... Based on this logic pacquiao never improved his punch resistance or talent since torrcempo (not going to look up how to spell his name) and wlad would get koed today by sanders.

    I don't think it's a troll thread at all maybe wilder is **** and he has a ba chin , I'd favour wilder but I don't think it's that ridiculous Roy jones beat ruiz

    Afalobi said he hits harder than any Heavyweight he's sparred with. And I'm sure he's sparred with harder punchers than 11 KO in 47 bouts Sconiers who had Wilder badly hurt.

    Pacquiao was drained, Wilder won't have been at Heavyweight. Wlad has improved his technique, Wilder fighters bums hasn't been tested enough to see if his technique has improved.

    But it this way, if someone would've made a thread in July 2008, saying that Pacquiao would beat Margarito, coming off PacMan's draw with Marquez at Jr Lightweight and Magarito's beat down of Cotto at Welter saying that Pacquiao could beat Magarito at 150, it would've been called a troll thread by people who think only size and size alone matters.
