Does anyone else think Peterson would have beat the hell out of Marquez?

Wow.. no, just no.

 

Marquez would have easily beat lamont by Ud. Lamont is a b level fighter .... Marquez is A. When is the last time you ever seen somebody dispatch of Marquez ??? A oversized Floyd. Marquez is not a game and would chew Lamont up with counters.

 

jut think about that fight, peterson coming forward because marquez is fighting off the backfoot. if peterson beats the hell out of marquez, please believe marquez will be beating the hell out of peterson in the very same fight.

 

Marquez is one of the most complete fighters in boxing today. Everyone claims he just counter punches, I say watch him closely he attack he counter he can infight, and he controls the action in the ring. His defense is awesome high guard stiff jab great movement in the ring what else can you ask for. Peterson would have his hands full, and with all of the being said I'm not saying the Peterson couldn't win.

ever heard of styles make fights? so by using that logic u agree that Floyd would beat the hell out of Manny? :yep even Katsidis dropped Marquez.

 

Katsidis snuck a shot in the pocket JMM didn't see coming because he was similar in height.

Peterson being the taller man, Marquez would have the superior maneuverability against the ropes and the greater accuracy. He may take some punishment, but I believe he'd beat Peterson, and if by some chance Peterson won, I bet he'd have to bleed to do so.

 

So answer my question... What kinda problems would Peterson pose for JMM?

 

It's possible, but I doubt it. I think Peterson-Marquez would have been a great fight and a very interesting match up.

 

Peterson is great boxer and similar to marquez and has the ability to adapt. this fight sure as hell wont be a mismatch like everyone is assuming. he got knocked down by Khan and Ortiz and did enough to win one and get a draw in the other. all i know is Marquez wouldnt KO peterson.

 

Im just saying man, If JMM could avoid being seriously hurt by Pac in the 3rd fight. Well why wont he be able to avoid Peterson's shots? Peterson is getting over-rated. Bradley beat him, Ortiz got a draw (In a fight that most felt he won). Peterson beat Khan by 1 point @ home in a controversial fight. Peterson is good but he's like a Marcos Maidana... He's good but he's not the big dog in the division.

 

It wouldn't be a mismatch, though Peterson's Ring IQ doesn't compare. It's a fair prediction that Peterson could last 12. Marquez is somewhat of an underrated puncher, but Peterson is very tough.

 

Peterson is a completely different fighter than pac. hes smarter than him(doesnt mean he could beat pac) but hes more technical and can be aggressive effectively when he needs to. there was a rumor that he gave floyd a tough time during sparring. and hes probly one of the best body punchers out there right now. not positive he can beat marquez but it would be a good fight.
