Does anyone else think that Michael Grant vs Jameel MCline was a weird fight?

I don't even like getting off the damn couch when my knee or foot hurts let alone trying to engage in a contact sport with a broken bone !!!!!

    No fix.

Grant couldn't take the punch at that time. It was 6th time he was dropped in the 1st round in 3 fights in a row (Golota*2, Lewis*3, McCline).

McCline dropped guys with much better chin - Chris Byrd, Sam Peter (3 times), Calwin Brock, Al Cole, Shannon Briggs. He hit hard, but was really bad finisher.

Didn't look phony to me-- looked to me like he was anxious or distracted or something when he got caught.

I don't think it looked phony, it just looked "light" ,,,, it didn't look that hard, lol, I know, easy for me to say but I am just saying :bbb maybe a different angle would show more impact :think

It was legit, but I will say Grant made a really poor choice by going with Atlas after Lewis kicked his ass. If he went to Steward or Shields, he likely would've improved and beaten a couple more contenders. Atlas seems to destroy the confidence in his own stable and Grant was probably pretty fragile at the time. It was a bizarre combo.

yes I agree with this, Atlas has never impressed me, he has that ego maniac look in his eyes that would not help instil confidence in others :!:

This is it. Grant had glass chin and was exposed by Golota. Mccline came in aggressive and first punch he landed ended it. Grant got up and tried to survive but damaged his ankle and couldn't fight on it.

Glass is a little harsh. He lacked the instincts of lifetime gym rats and took flush shots as a result.

Michael Grant shouldn't be labeled as " glass chinned." I saw him battle life and death with Andrew Golata and take some tremendous shots in that fight while showing true grit to pull out a win. I never saw his bouts with purity or Gonzalez but those guys for all their limitations could crack too. Grant was tough. His biggest problem was that he lacked defense and was a slow easy target, which made him a sitting duck for Lennox Lewis. The man wasn't great by any means but I've always felt he was one of Lewis' more underrated opponents..

The bell rang and a cold Grant just walked straight into a punch.
The way he got his foot stuck behind him looked very painful and damaging.
It didn't seem at all strange to me.

It wasn't the first time Grant had been caught early. Maybe if his foot hadn't broke he might have come back to win the thing.

He got caught cold, fell with his foot stuck underneath him. The view from the overhead camera shows it all. When his foot comes free from underneath him it is wiggling like jello. Really sick looking.
