Does anyone else think that Wilder is a terrible matchup for Usyk?

I can see Usyk beating Fury, but not Wilder.

Wilder would be easier IMO. Most of wilders power is at the end of those long ass arms. He can most certainly outbox and turn him in the pocket. There’s always the power threat but has a one ever seen Uysk legitimately hurt? He’s faced some pretty big punchers that have shown power against stronger opposition across his amateur, WSB, and pro career.

Wilder is far easier for Usyk then Fury.

Usyk is way superior in all aspects, but we saw him hurt from AJ and I am not sure how strong his head is (because he's great at defense and fought heavy and strong people at cruiser, but not that heavy and strong), very possible to start counting the stars after one Wilder's cross landed. At least this punch is proven very dangerous, true - maybe not against top guys, but I doubt anyone will deny it is.

Wilder has the power to turn any fight around, but I generally go with the superior boxer in these instances. Wilder's power is as high above Usyk's, as Usyk's boxing ability is above Wilder's.

I think Usyk outpoints him if they ever meet.

It's a risky match up but Usyk is capable of backing Wilder up against the ropes and giving him no opening for 12 rounds.

Wilder has a one hitters blind luck chance against anyone he fights. Although people thinking it's blind luck is what he wants...it's not he's spent a career lining up that punch and even if he can't line it up fully or walk someone onto it he can still find it because he's probably the most explosive HW of all time whether people want to admit it or not....although it shall be proven with more time if you still aren't a believer.

Wilder is basically a hell spawn human mantis shrimp.

Usyk can keep his head off the line for an entire bout but Wilder's laser right hand will always find its target atleast once.

There is a reason Usyk wants Fury and then to retire. He isn't staying around mixing it with these freaks like Joyce & Wilder for fun. He's had his fun with the bodybuilder. Fury is the ultimate and it's that or nothing.

I think Usyks movement and peppering jabs will disorient Wilder and he’d end up stopping Wilder mid to late rounds.

Saying that I don’t see Usyk taking Wilders power at all. Usyks MO is to complain about low blows or rabbit punches if he’s hurt I’d expect Wilder to king in if he does.

    50/50 fight

If Fury is too scared to face Usyk then I doubt he has much to worry about vs Wilder. No doubt another Mecca site fee.

I am unaware of Usyk's complaints there.
Which fights show this? And are you saying he did not absorb illegal punches that could cause any fighter to lose if their opponent cheats or unintentionally say keeps being the only one to smash gonads?

If so, were any of his complaints illegitimate?

I still don't understand, why Malik's saying that Wilder would beat Usyk very easily.

He knows Usyk very well, being with him in many camps and has huge respect for him.

I think Scott is just a yesman whos looking to milk the Wilder gravy train for as long as possible. He says/tells Wilder what he wants to hear. He's definitely nowhere as dumb as Wilder and understands the sport of boxing well, he knows it isn't an easy fight.

Yeah, I do. There's obviously a question whether Wilder could land clean on Usyk who is both quick, intelligent and has a good static defence when needed, but I can totally see a shock defeat where Wilder ends up WBA, IBF, WBO champ lmao

I do wonder if Usyk decides to fight Wilder so that 2x AJ wins and 1/2x Wilder wins put him above Fury in this generation's rankings. Personally, I reckon there's a number of heavyweights with the wrong style or too much youth for Usyk to handle. This isn't cruiserweight where Usyk cleaned out the whole division. In fact very rarely in boxing today does a top fighter legitimately clean out their division. This is why unifying two belts in the same division is worth more than becoming a two-division champ imo. Of course there's context - going from 160 to 175 means more than crushing a paper champ @ 160, but I think as a general rule of thumb it holds true. This is why I think there is a genuine argument to be made that non-unified champs (or at least who were very recently unified) should be excluded from P4P talk. Sorry Crawford

Wilder got outboxed by regular Joes before his power bailed him out. Usyk is top of the charts right now in heavyweight boxing skills and has a great chin. His own power is above average I reckon. Wilder has a puncher's chance
