Does Anyone Else Think Thurman Still Beats Spence?

Thurman is a warrior and had the best resume of any active WW champion in the game. I think Thurman and Spence would still be a terrific fight, and one kief can definitely win.

IMO Spence beats Thurman because of the matchup of styles and the weaknesses we have seen of both....Spence is more methodical and tighter in his style....he dedicates his style to the long fight and his style of fighting is old school body punching....he is just a solid tactician and doesn't get pulled out of his gameplan very easy....I can't help but think Thurmans time away was part of his issue but we have seen him hurt to the head and body....the intangibles can make a difference Thurman can fight through adversity we have seen this....IMO it is the issues Thurman cannot change that makes the difference his chin is so so but his body shot resistance is questionable and he has not fought a body shot specialist like Spence yet, granted Paq hit him in the liver but we have seen him react before...the mobility of Thurman is tied to the body and the body work of Spence is the poison to Thurmans mobility

Tough call. I wouldn’t like to bet money either way. I thought Keith fought well last night, unfortunately he came up against a living legend last night.

 

Na Thurman does not take body punches well and Spence will kill him to the body.

 

Spence is a body puncher, Thurman can't take it to the body. He also doesn't have the power to KO Spence. Spence by 10th round TKO!

 

Toss up fight for me. Spence is fresher than Pac, but he'll also give Keith more chances to counter and doesn't present the angles or speed Pac did. Once Pac slowed down and became more stationary in the second half of the fight, Keith had a lot more success. That's not a coincidence. I think he'd be able to figure out Spence's timing faster.

 

Yet you have a certain idiot on this forum that claims Spences footwork is too good for Manny to handle.

 

Yup. Thurman landed some big shots on Manny in the latter part of the fight and if not for that great body shot by Manny things couldve ended differently as Thurman was definitely coming on strong.

 

no version of thurman beats any version of spence. 2 different levels. spence stops thurman in less than 8.

 

I think we have seen the best Thurman has to offer. Spence could end up showing more but so far he is fairly unproven. I think Crawford is the clear best of the 3.

Whilst I agree (mostly), a glass body isn't what you want against Spence that's the only reason I think he wins
