Doctor monitored testosterone injections? Yes, it makes sense, allow it but limit it, good for the health in old age too in truth

If you're going to say it causes cancer and has been proven you need to find a source so I can examine it because I hate to say It but anabolic steroids are used to treat cancer so I don't really believe you

We're talking about adults. Men who are informed and should be able to make their own choices. Kids should not do steroids that's a fact I won't argue but you can hold athletes responsible for what kids do

I just want to clear something up I'm not really a pro steroids person. I'm just pro people making their own choices

Steroids have been used for years to treat asthma, as a cream to fight dashes, as a supplement to help prevent bone degeneration, and to halt progress of muscle wasting diseases like cancer and more recently HIV.

I just find it hard to believe that these drugs are really going to be the next global killer.

That's got nothing to do with sports, though. Athletes shouldn't get the option to cheat because they're over 18.

You're either old, fat or ******ed. There's no way anyone half sane would discuss legalizing suicide unless you're mentally buried. Do you want those guys to literally kill each other in there for your pleasure?

Prohibition does not work. The health arguments are are misleading as performance enhancing substances are easily available and used by those who choose to do so.

In boxing there are regular medicals for the fighters to show they are healthy enough to compete yet the medical does not include screening for peds. This is done separately. Surely if the health of the fighter is paramount then screening for banned substances would be part of the medical.

Don't we mythologise great fights where fighters give everything?

At the present time we have a situation where a fighter on a ped regime is able to circumvent the testing procedures and avoid detection. There are and have been high level boxers using performance enhancing substances. Have we seen more deaths in the ring?

If the argument is about protecting the fighters then we need to be in a position where those who look after the health of fighters can do so without the constraints the current system puts them under.

I'm all for legalizing suicide but that's a completely separate topic that has nothing to do with steroids.

As far as this argument that steroids are all of a sudden going to give guys killer strength let's take a rational look. Steroids would not give anyone superhuman strength or speed. Men have been fighting each other for the entire history of the species. Steroids are not the tipping point that is going to turn boxing into the gladiator arena.

As for the question you pose at the end it seems a bit funny that any fan of a combat sports seems appalled at the idea of someone being a sadist, which I am not. Mike Tyson isn't the king of ppv because he went the distance

Absolutely disgraceful statement and an terrible thread :lol:

Boxing is after all a SPORT. Have you ever heard of or do you understand anything about the word "sportsmanship"?

An accomplishments significance is based on the steps taken to achieve it!

Steroids are used in medicine as a necessity, In sport they are totally unnecessary .Talent dedication and hardwork are what's required.

Using PEDS as a way of achieving a goal completely diminishes the significance of the achievement itself.
Therefore the championship belts would become completely meaningless and ultimately so would the sport.

Any fighter caught cheating should be banned indefinitely until they can prove their innocence.

Maybe then they'll think a little harder about juicing when weighing up the risk/reward.

Also thread starter should be permabanned for starting such a ******ed disgraceful thread :deal

As of right now if a fighter uses p its cheating and they shouldn't because its unfair. If you bothered to read the thread I'm sure you'd realize that all your saying is that you are against steroids. Well that's great but you failed to even give a reason except its unnecessary. People use to eat steaks the day of fights for the energy too. Who needs advances anyway.

As for the ridiculous comment at the end, congratulations on being one of the ****s in favor of censorship on ESB you're a dirty **** for that.

    Absolutely not!

A horrible idea for the simple fact that parents would be doping their children at extremely young ages. :-(

    It'd be absolute chaos.

This argument is invalid. You aren't arguing anything, you're just making what you think is a clever joke
