Does ANYONE envision Pavlik/Taylor going the distance?

  3. Hopkins was a fraud who beat on two named midgets and no namers for 20 defences until Jermain came along 'skooled' him.

    Twice. :rofl

You're more confused than scooby doo. You give the impression of some sad old, wifeless man who is trying to act young. No-one says "word" in this country. You're a buffoon.

I feel the same way. Taylor might very well be very defencive and get outworked. Why? Another KO lose and taylor´s career might be over? A points lose and he still makes noise at super middeweight. This might very well be like Tarver vs. Jones 3.

    Nope, somebody is going down.

  8. I'll hedge my bets on a full distance fight because if anyone's going down it's going to be Taylor.

Taylor's youth and athleticism was enough to stay competitive enough with lazy slow-motion versions of Hopkins and Wright - who were in no way shape or form KO threats - to possibly eke out a close decision, or at least non-loss, which he did.

I don't buy the theory that Pavlik simply backed Miranda up and won the mental game, case closed. The guy was weight-drained, or affected by something, from the very beginning of round 1. I just don't buy that Pavlik pulled some jedi mind trick on him by sticking to his "back him up" gameplan. Pavlik did a fine job taking advantage, don't get me wrong, but it just does not jive. An injured Abraham managed to put plenty of hard punches in Miranda's face, and Miranda didn't suddenly freak out and break down or forget how to take a forward step. You might respond that Pavlik's power is much greater than Abraham's - that I don't really buy either until they face some more common opposition. Pavlik pounded on Miranda for several rounds before putting him away. It's all part of the smoke-and-mirrors myth built up behind him that makes him seem a monster coming out of that fight. On that night Miranda would have lost to Willie Gibbs or David Banks. That isn't to say Pavlik didn't execute the Pavlik fight well, he did - that's why it was such a merciless beating. But it was a merciless, one-sided beating. Miranda barely even fought back. He was in NO way a threat to Pavlik, except for having the potential dumb luck of a stray hail-mary landing on Pavlik's non-adamantium whiskers.

As I said, Taylor had the tools to take advantage of Hopkins lethargy and keep it competitive enough to leave it in the judges' hands. Hopkins didn't do all he could have to win, so it's his own fault. Old Hopkins cutting down to middle certainly was never a KO threat against a young, athletic opponent. Maybe if Taylor had a china chin, but as we know he doesn't. He has a "decent but crackable" one.

  11. Yeah but Hopkins was also afraid of getting KTFO by Taylor it wasn't just age or workrate! Did you see both their matches? Sure he gave some nice combo's at times but Taylor had some vicious comeback punches that even a known counter punche like Nard had trouble with them, he was afraid

Answer me this. Why do you come on here? It would seem your sole existance is to try & provoke a reaction out of Hopkins fans. Bit sad really.
