BLAH BLAH BLAH!! He lost two fights to Pavlik plain and simple! By that theory any fighter that was ever floored should have lost? Pavlik 2x over JT Hopkins 0-2! What does Bernard do well? He counter punches at this satge of his career. Pavlik will back him up with that piston like jab. B-Hop will try to do what he does counter, hold and head butt! Kelly will kill him with volume and the 1-2. Hopkins must become offensive, because unlike Calslappy kelly's punches hurt and Hopkins must fire back to keep from becoming a sitting duck. Can B-Hop win if he frustrates Pavlik sure he is a hall of fame fighter-although at the end of the line in the ring. Hopkins has flash knockdown power, he hasn't scored a ko since DeLa Hoya in 2004 and before that carl Daniels in 2002! Kelly wins by late KO or UD! Leaving Thursday can't wait see ya in AC

Just goes to show you that there were a few intelligent posters that had Hopkins and even though I hate to say it, Scar was one of them.

I was completely shocked last night by what Hopkins did.

I had no idea he still had the stamina left to do something like that. I never doubted his skills or defense or counter punching abilities, I just never thought he could do that for 12 rounds. Even after the first 2 rounds of the fight I was thinking "ok he is looking good at the opening rounds, he did for calzaghe as well and then he tired" but he never tired or stopped. He put down a grade A ass whooping on Pavlic.

Does anyone remember the punch stats? I know it was 500 something total punches for Hopkins. They were even doing an average punches per round of his career pre 2003 and after 2003 before the fight on HBO. It was in the 30s pre 2003 and 20s post 2003. Last night would have been in the 40s at 500 total punches.

If he would have thrown more in the Taylor and Calzaghe fights he wouldnt have lost. I had always assumed his stamina was lower and he didnt throw more because he couldnt, I would never imagine that he was just being overly cautious and holding back that much.

In the Taylor fights I just think he became overly cautious. In the Calzaghe fight he couldn't because JC dictated the pace at more than he could handle. Calzaghe really is just that good. Kelly's pressure was plodding and predictable and easy to handle. Joe's is much more tricky.
