Like most here he thought Ruiz was fat and easy work... Not sure why nobody rated Ruiz base on his fight with Parker alone.. I didn't think Ruiz would win mainly cause I thought he has a lack of power and AJ would have got him in the end but I'm not surprised he boxed AJ's ears off.. Unfortunately he probs will turn into Wlad 2.0 after this...
That's what turned me off Joshua as I still ain't buying it that any pro ref can be so inept.Parker took his losses way too well imo. I feel a tad sorry for him but this needs to teach everyone to stop disrespecting opponents and talking about the next before they actually beat what's in front of em.This isn't some gripe after the event as I've made a million posts alluding to this, baffled me how they could overlook a Povetkin,Parker and now Ruiz. I do have a theory about this and thats, that they always reckoned they could go twelve rounds like Canelo and stuff the opposition. So should anyone feel sorry for him?
Do you realize how stupid you sound? Many of Joshua fights in the UK consisted of his opponents being knocked down multiple Times.quite a number got up for more
I tihnk Ruiz fatbelly is a form of reverse psychology.. You look at him and think you ought to go easy on him.
AJ’s self importance was getting on my nerves a bit, his celebrity status was was making cheques his talent couldn’t back up. But I always feel bad for a fighter getting exposed in the ring, it is the most brutal wake up to reality. Something about seeing a giant physical specimen like that reduced to a scrambling wreck. I despise Hearn and match room for their antics but felt bad for AJ in the end. He handled the loss well but it was a bad loss, worse than Lennox’s because at least there u could say it was one punch. I personally hope AJ can at least redeem himself by winning the rematch, if nothing else. That fight either wrecked him or gave him inspiration, who knows at this point ...
I'll never forget after Dillian Whyte's fight against Lucas Browne, Joshua in the post fight interview said "I'm levels above everybody in the division right now" AJ truly believed he was the best hahahahaahhaah
Absolutely not. AJ had all the time to prepare, he had all the time to clear his head. Yet he allowed himself to come in underestimating Ruiz and overestimating himself. No reason to feel bad for AJ at all. This is a major disaster for his career and now its up to himself to prove he can come back mentally stronger from this -- or if he breaks apart.
No. This is what happens in heavyweight boxing. He's rich beyond his wildest dreams and can come again.
Well, it's hard to feel sorry for someone who's as rich as he is. But yeah, on some level I do since he seems to be a nice guy. But that's the fightgame, ain't it? He lives to fight another day.
No not really, I mean who feels sorry for a multi-millionaire sportsman and celebrity, it's not like he has cancer or something he just lost a fight. Plus lets be brutally honest the loss was down to his own decision making in and before that fight. He took Ruiz lightly, he wasn't 100% focused on his opponent more interested in promoting his fight and making a big splash in the US and well it back fired because he took his eye off the ball and was more focused on self promotion and growing his brand than actually boxing. So it's hard to feel sorry for him when this loss is down to his own actions, it's not like it was a lucky punch or a fluke injury or a robbery, he lost fair and square to the better man on the night.
Yeah, I always feel bad for the defeated fighter, more so for a big heavyweight for some reason. But in the end, if you spend any time weeping for the alpha male multi-millionaire elite sportsman, it's probably wasted time.
